My July favorites!

My July favorites!

Hello ladies! So am I seeing this right, We are walking into the third week of July?! I mean this summer is going so fast. I have a feeling it’s going super fast for me because I’m so nervous about Breaker starting kindergarten. I almost don’t want summer to end. I feel more nervous the second time around, I think because with David I worked so it was normal for me to be away from him during the day. Breaker’s been my ride or die since birth. I’m accepting applications for day time friends, LOL!

Ok so since we are into the middle of July and the middle of summer, I thought it would be fun to share some of my July obsessions. Some I’ve shared already and some are new!

IMG_6224

First lets get into my latest beauty obsessions! We all love skincare and makeup right?! So during the summer I focus more on my skin care. I need to take care of it, wash it good and moisturize. We should always take care of our skin but I really focus on it during summer. Not only because we sweat more but I don’t really like wearing makeup when it’s hot. So it’s important to keep that skin looking fresh. Another tip for summer makeup is I only use a tinted moisturizer during the day, If I’m even wearing makeup.I try to stay away from heavy foundation during summer. I’ll conceal my more troubled areas with concealer but I’m very light with it. I think lashes could really help with that summer look. If you have extensions great, If not These are my latest obsession I find the trio Ardell lashes so much easier to work with than strips. At least for me. Bronzer is a must and I know it’s pricy but my favorite summer bronzer is Chanel, Linked here. My other obsession is Dose of colors gloss in that’s cool. I’ve been wearing it since I got it and wearing it in this photo. Like I said less makeup is best in summer. If you want to spice it up put on a bright lip! As long as you look dewy and bronzed you are set!

IMG_6223

Ok if you all don’t know that Zara is my favorite store yet, Then that just means you need to read my blog more, LOL! So lately I’ve been living in these basic crew T-shirts from Zara. I love them, I wear them a lot! They keep me cool and they are easy to style! Not to mention they are under $8, Do I need to say anymore. I just got these colors and I have double in black and white, You can never have enough basic colors. Great summer Tee!

IMG_6226

My last obsession is my Mango smoothie! I’ve been making this everyday after my workout. I needed a change from my others. I’ve talked about my favorite protein Powder here and my workout I do everyday. Check it out. But today I’m sharing the recipe, So easy and yummy! This one doesn’t have greens so what I do is make myself a side spinach salad for dinner, Just to get my greens in for the day! If not add that in your smoothie, it will just be a green one.

1 cup of almond milk

handful of frozen mango no sugar added one

1 TBS of flax seed

1 scoop of vanilla protein powder

you can add extra ice for thicker consistency

enjoy!

Hope you liked my post, So what’s your latest obsession? Till next post!

Happy 2nd Birthday to my Blog

Happy 2nd Birthday to my Blog

Hello my friends! How are you all doing? I hope you all are great. I seriously can’t complain. We’ve had a nice first month of summer break. The kids are so good. Besides me being in the kitchen a lot more, I think we all have a system. We’ve also been doing family night walks around the neighborhood which is great. I’m seriously in shock that we are in July already. July is special over here on the blog. I posted my very post on July 3rd. And today is my second year blog anniversary. I’m seriously so proud. I’m going to walk you down some of my blogging thoughts from the past 2 years.

Processed with VSCO with j5 preset

My first post I was nervous, excited and a little scared. But I was super confident I wanted to do this so that’s why I clicked post! I had so much to share, I was missing the fashion in my life and I was missing that outside contact. I had been a stay at home for 3 years when I decided to take the plunge. I talk more about why I started my Blog here.

Processed with VSCO with j5 preset

So fast forwarding to my one year. Now you would think I wasn’t nervous or scared, and you would think my confidence had gotten stronger. Oh no it was opposite. My confidence had dropped a little. Not with myself oh no, that I found and I won’t let that go ever! I didn’t have the confidence in the blogging world. I hadn’t seen much growth and I wasn’t enjoying it that much. I felt it was a chore rather than what I felt when I started. I hated the way I was feeling about my blog. But with the confidence I had in myself I kept on. And decided to take a different approach and just be a little more raw and share a little more of who I was. Rather than the latest outfits and what to wear. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s what I love to share but I decided to add more family and more of who I am everyday.

Facetune_30-06-2019-13-27-41

And now fast forward to today I’m at my 2nd year of blogging and I’ve honestly changed my entire approach on this world of blogging. I decided to not care so much about the numbers. Because I still haven’t reached the growth I’d like. One of my vision board goals  last year was to get my first sponsored post. That hasn’t happened for me. I’ve reached out to companies and I either get a no because my follower count isn’t high enough or I just don’t get answered. But that’s ok, I tried. I don’ t let the No’s get me down. I started the blog to feel a void in my life I had missed. And it has done that for me, I’ve also got to meet some nice ladies that I would have never come in contact with if I hadn’t started the Blog. So for that I’m thankful and happy. I will continue to share from my heart and I know my time will come. Your girl has a dream to collab with a shoe company and have the Stylesencillo shoe! I mean I have goals, LOL! Again I want to thank all of you who take the time to read my post and follow my road of blogging. Even if I have only influenced one person, I can go on another year happy! Cheers to another 365 days of Stylesencillo.

Till next post!

Packing mistakes

Packing mistakes

Hello my lovely friends! So I’m 2 Days into summer Break with my boys and I’m already being told by Breaker that I’m making him starve, LOL! I’m like really kid. I know the first week is getting a routine. I feel like he ask for food out of boredom, So I’m making a schedule and hopefully LA cools down a little so we can get out and do some outside play.

Today I wanted to share something I’ve talked about before I went on my trip last year and I did exactly what I didn’t want to do. I over packed! This year I’m not going away away on a big trip but we are heading to Vegas for 4 days in august with the fam, so I definitely don’t want to overpack.

I went to Dominican republic last year and I didn’t wear half the stuff I packed. So I wanted to share more functional clothes you can pack and possibly wear it a different way so basically versatile outfits. I plan on doing this when we go to Vegas, The only thing with Vegas I feel like we change twice a day, LOL! but I’m going to try to keep it to a minimal.

Something that I love is a basic swimsuit like this one. You can put some jean shorts over it during the day before the pool or beach time and you will look put together for breakfast or walking around. Ok so I was little in the 80’s and I remember my sisters and I had those jelly shoes. I can’t believe they have them again, I thought these were super cute. I love me some anklets I used to wear them all the time, Glad they are being seeing more and more again. A cute summer bag is always a must when vacationing.

For outfits I love a simple basic comfy pair of shorts. These you can dress up or down with a tank, or a crop top. You can style them in so many different ways take them from day to night. I would add a headband with some cute earrings and the shoe will make it day or night. These shoes I think will be the perfect trio for a vacay, The flat slides could even be your travel shoe and a not so casual shoe with a little platform is fun. I think everyone needs a clear heel like this, These will go with every outfit and make that day outfit to night real fast.

I hope this was helpful if you plan on vacationing this summer, Even if it’s a weekend we over pack! Don’t forget your sunscreen and hat! Till next post.

The perfect jean shorts

The perfect jean shorts

Hello ladies! How are you all doing? I’m good, it’s crunch time for the last few days of school for these kiddos. So the oldest is studying for finals and the little one is just chilling. I’m also trying to map out summer break. We will be taking a few days in July to palm springs and some days in Vegas. I’m looking forward to both. But the in between days I need to keep these kids busy and the brains working. My oldest is still going to have practice and he likes time with his buddies. The little one I’ll just have to plan some play dates with some Mama friends. Most important I need to make time for myself too.

In other news lets talk about the perfect pair of jean shorts. So I live in jean shorts during the summer. But I had not been able to find the perfect pair. And my new thing because i’m older now is finding “age appropriate” items. I like short shorts but only for vacay or beach days. So I look for a more modest style for outings.

I’m going to say for a pair of jean shorts it’s better to spend a little more since they are a staple in your closet. I honestly found the best pair ever. It was a splurge for me but so worth the price. They are a brand called Agolde. They have a website or you can order from revolve which I did. I left the name of the shorts on the pic above that I have on. They are great quality and I love the fit. Perfect length and they are pretty comfortable. I pictured a few other washes that are great to have.

Hope this was helpful! Till next post.

Tie Dye trend

Tie Dye trend

Hello friends! How are you all doing?! I’m over here just trying to keep it together. I’m feeling so emotional about Breaker graduating from pre-school. I think because I know he’s my last so it’s hard to let him grow up, insert crying emoji! And my David will be a sophomore, Crying! I will be a hot mess when he graduates. I know I’ll probably even cry at my nephews. It’s just hard to see them get so big.

Well enough of that. I wanted to share a trend that I’m totally loving right now. It’s the tie the trend. I think it’s going to be so fun for summer, I would say spring but in LA we haven’t had spring weather, LOL. But a very cute pop of color for summer outfits, especially on vacay, on the beach or just a fun way to brighten up your outfit. I know some are a little extreme. But I’ve rounded up a few that I think are age appropriate for me and still look chic!

I’m loving all the tie dye from Zara, seriously Zara is my go to always. My top I’m wearing is from Zara, here is the link!

Here are some others I’ve seen and I would totally rock these as well. I love the 2 from Shopstarlow. She always has great items, button down and kimono! This tee from Windsor is super cute, I’ve seen girls style it as a tee shirt dress with some sneakers. I love these sweatshirt options that the lovely sincerely Jules is wearing. I just love how these girls are wearing the tie dye trends! So fun, chic and a way to spice up the summer!

Hope you ladies liked this post, I love when I get excited over a trend because I can share with all of you. Happy shopping!

My go to swimwear style

My go to swimwear style

Hello Everyone! Spring break is in full effect over here at my house. Boys are off for the week and I’m trying not to yell! No but really my boys are good but it does get hard since they are 10 years apart, The little one thinks everything the teenager does needs punishment, LOL! So all I hear is mom punish Dave or Mom I’m hungry, Like seriously!

With summer around the corner, I’m already looking for new swimwear. I’m pretty basic when it comes to picking out swimwear. And with being a mom and having the kids with me, that’s also something I keep in mind when shopping for swimwear. I remember when David my oldest was 2 We were in Jamaica and I went down the slide with him in a more low-cut bathing suit and lets just say they flew out, LOL! So I’ve learned to keep it comfortable, cute and kid friendly. I’ll keep the low cut for trips with no kids. So I’ve rounded a few that I like, and that can be styled with some cute accessories to look trendy and chic at the pool! Loving neon so I had to throw that one in, A pink is always cute, You have to have a black one I mean it’s a must. The leopard is so good, and I actually ordered it, it’s on the way! You can throw on some jean shorts. I like to place a tee over and tie it, if you’re walking around the pool area. A cute sheer duster  is always a must. Don’t forget some sandals. I like havaianas for the pool!

Accessories to give your swimsuit that extra cuteness. I love a good sunhat, Find one that’s neutral so you can wear it all summer with everything. A good bag that you can toss everything inside for pool and beach days, Moms you know how much we pack for kids. I think everyone needs a cute basket bag, So fun and chic. I always like to buy a more inexpensive pair of sunglasses for the pool and beach with kids. Just to be safe you won’t ruin your more expensive ones. I love me a cute layered necklace with a swimsuit and you can’t forget the scarves.  I love a cute head scarf, You can wear it so many different ways and also tie it on your shorts or basket bag for color. check out my video on instagram @stylesencillo for a short video on how I style a basic black swimsuit.

Well ladies happy swimsuit shopping, Hope you liked this post, Till next post.

Sandals you need for Spring/Summer

Sandals you need for Spring/Summer

Hello Friends! Happy first day of spring! I hope you all are doing well. I Figured I’d keep the theme of  March for the Blog spring. So my favorite of course are shoes. So what better post but to share all my spring shoe favorites. I love me a good sandal. It can be a flat, a chunky heel, a short heel or even a sexy heel. But Let’s get real I’m a mom and I need kid friendly shoes. And I’m just all about comfort and cute.

So I’ve gathered a few different styles to share and from three of my favorite shoe places. I think these are all great prices. It’s always good to buy a good pair of neutral sandals a better quality because they will be your favorite. I’m still wearing a pair I bought 2 years ago from Aldo that I love.

IMG_2121

So here goes, First picks are from Steve madden, I love a slide so much so you will notice most are slides. I don’t care for a sandal that goes around the toe area unless it’s a flip-flop. Which the hubs can’t stand for me to wear, LOL! Slides are comfy and they look stylish.

IMG_2127

Second are from Aldo, you ladies know I love Aldo shoes. I’m never disappointed and they are pretty comfortable. They have the best styles to choose from. These were my favorite for spring. I also added a cute mule, I love me a cute spring mule.

And last but not least because these are the best for our wallets! So that means we can buy more pairs. Target, Yes ladies these are all from target. As you can see I found the most and I love all of them. I’m living for the blue slides with a chunky heel I need these ASAP! Most of these are under $30 and they are so cute. I read a few reviews on most and all great.

So ladies I’ve made it easy for you to grab those cute sandals for spring and summer so all you have to do is go grab them before it’s too late. Don’t wait for summer to snag these!

Hope you liked this post, Till next post.

Spring fashion 2019

Spring fashion 2019

Hello Ladies! So we are about one week away from Spring! Bring on the fashion, sun and allergies, LOL! I’m a spring baby so it’s my favorite besides Fall. But the allergies that come with it can be annoying. Will get through it. I want to get into spring fashion and what I like and what’s popular.

First is Neon, it was spotted on the runway and you see it on celebs. I’m loving neon so much right now. I have neon nails and I’m planning on adding some neon to my 40th b-day. I can’t wear a full on neon outfit, it’s just not me. But adding a pop of it is fun and can be done in a cool, simple, and always budget friendly way. I added some samples of cute neon find that are budget friendly and can be styled with some simple basics. Like I did here I added a neon pink blazer to give my simple outfit a pop of color. Earrings, jelly slides and crop sweater from forever 21 and snake-skin shoes from Zara.

Next is Polka dots and mixed prints. I actually love polka dots so much. From dresses to tops or rompers. You can have fun with polka dots. A fashion trend that I’m loving is mixing prints. I did try it with polka dots and leopard and I just love the way it looked together. You can even mix plaid with polka dots to be more fun or another animal print with some neon. Sharing some looks that are budget friendly and can be styled so many different ways. Leopard Top, 3 others are from Zara and last 3 are from forever 21.

One of the biggest things I noticed about 2019 spring fashion is having fun. I like fashion that’s not serious. Have fun with it, Mix match that print, add some neon, Get those neon pink nails. Add a pop of leopard for work. Have fun with it. You don’t have to break the bank to be trendy for spring. My go to stores are always Zara, H&M and forever 21 for those fun accessories.

Hope you all liked this post and have fun with spring fashion! Till next post.

100th Blog post

100th Blog post

Hello Ladies! Today’s post is quite special. It’s my 100th post. And for that I am truly proud of myself. About 100 post ago, I was so nervous to press publish. I didn’t think anyone would care to read or even look at my Blog. But I published it anyway, and I’m so happy I did. I’ve had so much fun writing my Blog. I’m able to use my creative side and keep up with fashion like I love. I do run into some struggles, at times I feel like I’m not doing a good job, But I stop and tell myself that I am.

Putting yourself out there in this saturated world of blogging is scary. But I’m confident in myself enough to keep going.

I love sharing with you all and coming up with new things to write about. All my post really do come from my heart. I write like I’m talking to my friends, Which you are all my friends.

I plan on keeping this up until life doesn’t allow it. But until then I will continue to bring weekly blogs and fun photos.

I want to thank My photographer Wendy for supporting my vision from the beginning! Look girl 100 post later! And to the Hubby for being the best instagram husband ever, he gets low for those photos, LOL! And to all of you for taking the time to read and message me, It means the world to me. Cheers to 100 more!

Taking you down memory lane! Till next post.

How I make basics look trendy

How I make basics look trendy

Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well. The rain finally stopped in LA for now. And we are taking full advantage of that. I’m really looking forward to spring time. Just not the allergies we all get, LOL! I’m also pumped for summer this year, I can’t wait to have some summer fun.

Today I wanted to share some fun ways I like to make basic pieces look trendy. I’m big on not buying such trendy pieces. I’ve always gravitated towards basics. I also try to find trendy pieces at budget friendly places.

I think everyone should own a few different black tops. From a regular tee to a fun crop or a sweater. Black tops can go with anything and be styled with just about anything. My favorite is the black tee. A more relaxed fit is a plus, You can tuck it in or tie it to the front or back. Or even wear a spaghetti top or dress over. It’s just a staple you need to have in your closet. In white as well. I love my tees from Zara. They are under $10 and I love how soft they feel. I usually buy about 3 at a time. As well with white. And sometimes in Pink.

To make a regular black tee trendy I would add a hat or some cool trendy earrings that will make that Tee pop. Accessories are the items I usually buy trendy. You can find a great selection at forever 21. The earrings are so good there. I love me cute trendy earrings. Add a cute scarf to your black tee and you create a whole different look. Just have fun with adding trendy pieces on a budget.

Processed with VSCO with a6 preset

Another look I like is a crop top. I have them in short sleeve and long sleeve. The long sleeve I like to dress it up more. I love pairing this one with a skirt or even some cute trousers. It just adds a little fun twist on the basics. I also love crop tops under overalls. It just makes the overalls looks so much more feminine.

This was short and sweet about basics. Hope you liked this post. Till next post!
