Back to school shopping

Back to school shopping

Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well! This week has been a little slow for me on the blog/Instagram side. The last couple days I’ve been feeling a little tired. So I haven’t had any desire to shoot any content, But I can’t wait to create more. It’s hard to shoot content when I’m feeling 50% myself. But I’m feeling better today. So today I want to show you all my favorite’s from the ever so popular Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

The boys are back at school end of August. So we are making list and getting ready for the new school year. It’s an exciting year for David. He’s a freshman! He’s been having a blast this summer. This summer is the first that he actually has hung out with his group of buddies so much. I love that. They have all been friends since kindergarten. And it’s also the first time he’s wanting to pick his own clothes. Usually I pick out everything. But this year he found his way to express his style and I couldn’t be happier. I think kids expressing themselves with clothes is so fun. He loves color. And I’m not mad at that. So for back to school I’m leaving it to him. All mom is picking out are more leisure wear and gym shoes. These are my picks for David( 14 years old).

Now for my Breaker. Mommy still picks out all his clothes! This little guy will be back to his pre-school. He is turning 5 this November, But if you are a parent and aware of the “cut off” for starting kindergarten you will know why.  We kind of like this cut off because he’s still baby to us. I feel he wouldn’t even be ready for a real full-time school schedule yet. I’m really happy we will be back to his pre-school. We love everyone there. For this little guy comfort is key! And clothes I won’t care about getting a little stained, Mom’s ya feel me! I normally like to shop target for his school clothes. But these are my picks for Breaker that will be perfect for the transition into the cooler days ,I’m so wishing for.

And for Mom! I mean Mom’s should get some back to school stuff too! Some of the things I really look forward to when the boys are back to school, are running fast errands alone. I get so much done in the little time Breaker is at school. Who else hates making more than 2 stops when you have a kid in a car seat? I see your hands Mamas, LOL! So one of the perks of the boys in school is running those fast errands. And another of my favorites is taking a walk around the Rose bowl to clear my head feel some air and just let go of stress. Once the weather cools down I will be back around the rose bowl. So these are my picks that will have me back to school ready.

So Ladies these are my Nordstrom Anniversary sale picks. Sale ends August 5, so get your shopping on! Till next post.

Planning a Kids party

Planning a Kids party

Hello Ladies! How are you all doing?! This LA weather is crazy! It’s pretty much kept us in the house. Glad its cooling off a little. I can’t believe the kids have already been home for a month. It’s going so fast. School starts in August, So now I have to start school shopping. I will be doing a blog post of all the cool back to school deals.

Today’s post I wanted to share a few things I like to do when I’m planning my kids parties. Breakers 5th birthday is coming up in November. To some that might seem like lots of time ,but I like to start early. I’ll be sharing a few of my favorites to use and just some checklist I like to check off before shopping for items. The pictures I’m sharing are from some of Davids parties and Breakers that I planned myself. Most of the items made by myself or family members.

IMG_9941

If your child is old enough I’m pretty sure the theme will be their choice! But I’ve always picked my kids themes up until 5 years old. I love this part. Picking a theme is so fun.

IMG_9947

First most important is figuring out what location you will use. Once you figure out location it will be easier to write your party list. Whether it’s at a park, indoor place or home. You need rentals etc. So it’s always important to find location first. If I’m having a lot of people I go with a park it’s just so much easier.

IMG_9948

Second would be planning the menu. Food is important for parties. Lets get real people come to parties to eat, LOL! So the food has to be a big part. Unless you are having a smaller gathering like cake and ice cream. I always try to find a menu that’s kid friendly. I mean it’s a kids party. And most of the time I try to have food the birthday kid likes. I will make sure to have snacks for the little ones. For example for Breakers 1st birthday he obviously wasn’t eating big meals yet. So I made these little baskets with baby friendly snacks. I thought they were perfect for a park party. Pizza is always a good one and easy. Adults and kids love it.

Rentals I always call a few local spots in my area to get the best deal. I look on yelp and also read reviews. Very important to get one that has good reviews. I always have rentals dropped off early if they can do it the night before if at your house even better. But earlier the better so you can be prepared.

Cake time. Now you have so many choices. If you have a favorite that’s great. But if you’re new to ordering just do research. We have so much at our fingertips now that looking for vendors is so much easier. I usually go to the same bakery for my kids cakes. They have delicious cakes and they are a family favorite. I’ve also gone with Donuts. My kids love donuts. I’ve done a donut name for David, this one was from California Donuts. They are awesome. I usually go simple with the cake design, because I’ll add a topper myself.  I’ve been using Auntieapple for most of my cake topper now. She does sugar cookies and can make cake toppers out of sugar cookies. I love her work she’s amazing. Her work is awesome. If you are in the LA Area.

IMG_9949IMG_9942IMG_9951IMG_9950

Treat tables! So this is one of the funnest. I love a good treats table. I’ve done the Candy table thing, I’ve done popcorn bar and just a yummy dessert table. So many options for this. Just have fun with it because it becomes the main attraction. The minecraft and robot cake in these pictures I made myself.

Some of my party inspo places I like to look up are Karas Party ideas and Pinterest. These are probably the two I go to the most when planning. I usually make a board on pinterest and just pin away.

Ladies just have fun with the planning. Don’t stress, start early and make a list and check it off! Happy planning ladies. Hope you liked this post. Till next post.

Mommy and Mini summer style

Mommy and Mini summer style

Hello Ladies! Summer is in full swing! We are enjoying the summer so far. We’ve been trying to get out as much as we can on the weekends. Since the hubs works all week. But the boys and I do try to get out during week. We still can’t wait to get out to the beach. So far we have set up play dates for Breaker and hang outs for David, Yes the big boys call it hang outs, LOL! Just trying to keep my boys busy and happy. I’m enjoying having them home. Yes I miss my alone time but they are getting so big that I’m cherishing every moment with them.

imageIMG_9568IMG_9567

Today I wanted to give you some summer style. All of us Mom’s know that these kids grow like weeds. So every season we most likely have to buy new items. Since Breaker was little I’ve always liked old navy for his summer clothes. They always have the cutest styles and the prices are awesome. Not to mention all summer long they have sales. I scored some really cute items at 40% off. I got some cute stuff that I can mix and match all summer long.  Breakers wearing a tank and shorts from old navy. I’m kinda obsessed with yellow right now. So of course I ordered him this pair. But they have these in different colors so cute.

DSCNE0017

When shopping for the boys I’ll get them a few shirts with print but I mostly stick to solid colors. So that way I can match it with anything. The tees are always good to add a sweater or jean jacket once the weather cools up.

IMG_9570

For my outfit! A few summer staples that I think we all should have in our closet. A good pair of jean shorts and a white top(linen) for summer, goes with everything. I plan to use this as a cover up with my swimsuits as well. A summer bag and some summer sandals, with a heel or flat. My summer style is very simple as all my season styles, LOL! But for summer, I love to keep it cool and simple. I always add a statement earring to jazz it up. My earrings are from Baublebar. My hat is from Target! I have been enjoying getting dressed, I’m so proud of my consistency with working out. I’m happy with how my clothes look and fit. For the first time in my life I’m not worried about the number on the scale. I’m staying consistent with my workouts and making better food choices. And for that I am proud.

Side note for all my Zara ladies. They are having an awesome sale right now! Check it out.

Hope you ladies liked this summer post with my Mini! Have a great week! Till next post!

Mommy and Mini spring style

Mommy and Mini spring style

Hello my loves! Spring is in the air and I’m loving it. Did you all check out my spring favorites post?! We are enjoying the nice weather so much. We’ve started up our daily evening walks again. When the time changes and the weather is perfect we get in an evening walk when the Hubs gets home. We love it, We walk around our area try to get 2 miles in. And this weekend Breaker learned how to ride his big boy bike(training wheels).  So he rode his bike on our walk for the first time this week and did so good. It’s a nice way to get some family time in away from phones and exercise.

So Mom life update. I’m starting to figure out some things to do once the kids are off for summer. I’ll be putting up a blog post on some of the ideas I get. trying to stay local, inexpensive and good for both my 14-year-old and 4-year-old. I really want to get more outdoors with them before it gets too hot. So stay tuned for what I come up with!

Today’s blog post is all about spring style.  And I have my side kick to show how to jazz up a boys spring outfit. I absolutely love blazers. They looks so good with denim. It’s really a favorite look of mine. I did a blazer look a few post back with jeans. Now that we are in spring, I think this look is so appropriate for the season.

Processed With Darkroom

My look I pretty much had everything I’m wearing since last year other than the blazer. I purchased the blazer right before Easter from Target. I also spotted the same blazer in pink. I think I’ll be snagging that too. My shorts I purchased about 2 years ago from Urban outfitters. I love them. It’s so hard to find the perfect pair of Jean shorts. My shoes are from Aldo I love them and they are on sale now. I added some orange earrings to jazz it up. Some tips I have, with just adding a new pair of earrings or a blazer to some items you already have in your closet can really make a new cute look. Shop within your closet I bet you can make a cute look!

For Breakers look I wanted to spice up his shorts and plain white tee. He was in a wedding a couple of weeks ago and This was his blazer to his suit. I’m trying to get more wears before it doesn’t fit. It was a linen suit so perfect for spring. I love adding jean jackets or cute cardigans to his outfits. They just make a plain outfit look so much cuter. With boys outfits can get pretty plain. So I always find ways to make my boys outfits pop!

Hope you like my Mommy and Mini spring style and got some helpful tips. You ladies have a great week! Till next post.

Mommy and Mini LA winter style

Mommy and Mini LA winter style

Hello Beauties! How are you all? I hope you all are doing great. I’m doing good. I got back on Sunday from visiting my Mom in Sacramento. It’s always a great time just always too short. I went up with my older sister, niece,Breaker and my sister’s 2 dogs. The drive can seem like forever but once we arrive it’s great. We tried a few new places that I hadn’t been. My mom has been up there for 5 years so every time we go up we try to do something new. If you are ever up North in Sacramento, She lives in Gold River so you have an idea of where. You need to go to historic Folsom it’s such a cute place. All the buildings are Victorian. We ate at Chicago fire, It’s so good. Another place we ate at that I highly recommend is Tower Cafe. It’s in Midtown, Such a cute and delicious restaurant. If you’ve never been and are planning to visit I recommend you also try Dutch Bros. Coffee. Let’s just say Breaker was obsessed. He got the kids chocolate shake and I recommend the Chai tea latte, Don’t forget to ask for the party on top, LOL! It’s a thing so ask. Just a little recommendations in case you visit.

For today’s post I felt like I hadn’t done a mommy and mini style in a while. I love having Breaker match me occasionally. I mean my oldest won’t, LOL! I think it’s fun and he’s my mini me. Living in LA we don’t get winter like other places. And I start to get tired of the dark colors. By this time I start to crave spring colors. Even picking my nail colors around this time gets challenging. I know it’s not time for the bright colors but I start to gravitate towards those spring colors.

Facetune_20-02-2018-18-37-14IMG_6404Facetune_20-02-2018-18-36-18IMG_6401Facetune_20-02-2018-18-30-55

This look I thought it was fitting for my mood right now. It’s still appropriate for LA winter, But this beautiful yellow moto jacket just gives me all the spring feels. My sister bought this gorgeous jacket for me for christmas. It’s from Zara, I will try to find it and link below. If not I’ll find one similar. I matched it with a simple tank and my favorite jeans. I just threw on some simple nude sandals.

IMG_6406IMG_5758

Breaker’s look was pretty simple. My mom bought him the overalls for Christmas. I’m a little sad because they were a little tight, So he just wore them once. I’m glad I have these photos since he couldn’t wear them more. I just matched it up with a white tee and his pop of yellow to match mommy was on his Vans. He’s such a little Ham in front of the Camera so I always love these shoots.

I love putting these together ,so us Mom’s of boys can see we can too match with our boys. It’s fun and they grow so fast so we don’t get to do this very long. Hope you ladies liked this post. Wishing you all a great rest of the week and fabulous weekend. Till next post.

Hello Ladies! Hope you all are having a wonderful week. I feel like it’s been so long since I’ve written. I’m barely getting used to the every Wednesday Blog post. Eventually I will go back to twice a week. But for now every Wednesday it will be. I want to try to make those worth your reading! I can’t believe the holidays are coming so fast. It’s crazy! I am getting a little stressed. But will all get through it.

Next week on the blog I’ll be giving a little life update and my monthly blog update. I wanted to do this up into my first year of blogging. It’s important for me to keep all of you updated with my journey. So with that said let’s get into this fun post.

IMG_3442IMG_3433IMG_3414IMG_3439IMG_3422IMG_3418

Today I wanted to share these outfits. As you can see my little guy is with me. He’s getting so big, Almost 4 to be exact. As we get into the colder months ahead. And all of us Mom’s know these kids grow like weeds. Every fall/winter we have to buy them new clothes. When I’m getting ready to buy Breaker new clothes. I always buy him very simple pieces to start. Denim jeans, a color denim, some neutral cords. Tees always basic color. Occasionally I’ll buy him some Tees that have a design, Like the one he’s wearing here. But that’s very simple, I try to stay away from too much color. For his pop of color I buy him fun socks. Because it’s cheaper to buy a colored sock, so he can wear with anything. Rather than buying a colorful shirt that he can only wear with certain things. Another staple I like to have for him is a Denim jacket. One day I’ll take a pic of all his denim jackets from the first to recent. It’s just a must for me to have for him. They look so cute on and make any outfit look cool. One of my favorite things to put on him are joggers a cute Tee and his denim jacket. I know sometimes we think girl clothes can be more fun, And yes they have more options. But I have found ways to make dressing boys pretty fun. It’s ok to be bold with socks and show them off. If your Son likes to wear hats be bold with a cute hat! Shoes are always a fun way to dress up a boy’s outfit as well! And just remember you don’t always have to match so much. I love a funky combo. Something I always keep in mind when dressing my little guy is 3 colors. I like to have at least 3 colors on him. It really makes his outfits fun! Hope this helps out some mommies with boys!! Or even some of you ladies that want to give your big guy some styling tips,LOL! It works for all! Hope you lovelies have a great rest of the week and a fabulous weekend!

Back to school style

Back to school style

Hello Hermosas! Monday has me a little shook today! It came way too fast and I feel like I had so much to do this morning! Hence why my blog post is a little later than usual! But it’s up, YES! Today I just wanted to share some back to school ideas for our lovely teenagers. Sorry if this is just boy items, LOL! I’m a mom of boys. But girls are a little more open to shopping and picking their own cute stuff out. As for boys well at least my 13-year-old he’s not a big shopper. But these are David approved! I’ll list my favorite stores for our growing boys. My son is on the taller side, so we are in-between kids and adult sizes. I also love to keep his back to school items simple and versatile.

IMG_1310

For Clothes we usually prefer H&M, not only do they have the newest styles it’s also pretty affordable. I usually go for a dark denim, light denim and black. You can’t go wrong with these colors. We also try to stick to solid Tees, so he can either throw on a cool jacket or cardigan once the weather gets cold. A jean jacket is such a good staple item to have as well.

IMG_1321

For shoes My son is a big VANS fan. I like them as well because they last pretty well. He usually goes for the fun print ones. It’s like his accessory. But also has more simple styles. These are his picks!

IMG_1319

Socks ok so if you’re a mom you know socks disappear, LOL! It’s like where do they go?! Our favorite place to get socks is Urban outfitters. They always have a 3 for $20 deal and the quality of the socks are really good. David prefers a more printed fun sock again it’s like his accessory.

IMG_1320

Back packs I’ve always bought his from Tilly’s they always have great deals on back packs for back to school!

This rounds up my Back to school shopping list for David. Now it’s time to get those school supplies! Our favorite is Target they have the best deals and not to mention a one stop shop! Good luck Mamas on the back to school madness! I hope this was helpful!
