DIY S’mores fire pit

DIY S’mores fire pit

Hello Friends! It’s officially summer and we are all excited for some fun in the sun! I need to even out these tan lines and get to the beach. Fall is my favorite season but summer is the most memorable one. As kids and now as an adult. I love having my kids home and one of my favorites during summer are summer nights. When you know we don’t need to go to bed early for school and we can plan something fun during the week. Those are the best! But most work and parents still need sleep. So This is going to be something you can do at home and make it cozy just outside your door.

Besides hitting the pools and beaches, getting those tans and going on a fun vacay. I love me some S’mores over a camp fire or a bonfire. I mean who doesn’t. This is an easy DIY you can do for those nights at home. When you want some fun family time but don’t want to leave the house. Heres all you need:

First Head over to a home depot or Lowes. You will need a terra-cotta pot I used a 24 inch long pot. You can use a round one too. The fun part is you can pick out whatever you want.

Next you will need  some spray paint. You don’t need to do this but I thought it added to the pot. I purchased this at Michaels craft store and just gave it a good spray. I thought the stone look was fun! Let it dry really good before the next step.

While you are at Home depot or Lowes. Pick up some black polished pebbles to add inside your terra-cotta pot. Get enough to fill up the pot you have chosen. Once your pot is dried add these all the way to the top with a little room so not overflowing.

Next Hit up your local smart and final or party city and grab some of these burners. place on top of the rocks secure it so you know they won’t tip over. Light them up and grab your goodies from your local target to make some yummy S’mores. I love that target has the square marshmallows. So much easier to make your S’more, and enjoy! This is great for your patio or you can even set up a fun S’more bar for a summer party. You can also add recess peanut cups, dark chocolate or anything you like for a fun S’more bar.

Hope you liked this post and I hope you enjoy your summer! If you end up making one tag me on Instagram @stylesencillo . Till next post!

My go to swimwear style

My go to swimwear style

Hello Everyone! Spring break is in full effect over here at my house. Boys are off for the week and I’m trying not to yell! No but really my boys are good but it does get hard since they are 10 years apart, The little one thinks everything the teenager does needs punishment, LOL! So all I hear is mom punish Dave or Mom I’m hungry, Like seriously!

With summer around the corner, I’m already looking for new swimwear. I’m pretty basic when it comes to picking out swimwear. And with being a mom and having the kids with me, that’s also something I keep in mind when shopping for swimwear. I remember when David my oldest was 2 We were in Jamaica and I went down the slide with him in a more low-cut bathing suit and lets just say they flew out, LOL! So I’ve learned to keep it comfortable, cute and kid friendly. I’ll keep the low cut for trips with no kids. So I’ve rounded a few that I like, and that can be styled with some cute accessories to look trendy and chic at the pool! Loving neon so I had to throw that one in, A pink is always cute, You have to have a black one I mean it’s a must. The leopard is so good, and I actually ordered it, it’s on the way! You can throw on some jean shorts. I like to place a tee over and tie it, if you’re walking around the pool area. A cute sheer duster  is always a must. Don’t forget some sandals. I like havaianas for the pool!

Accessories to give your swimsuit that extra cuteness. I love a good sunhat, Find one that’s neutral so you can wear it all summer with everything. A good bag that you can toss everything inside for pool and beach days, Moms you know how much we pack for kids. I think everyone needs a cute basket bag, So fun and chic. I always like to buy a more inexpensive pair of sunglasses for the pool and beach with kids. Just to be safe you won’t ruin your more expensive ones. I love me a cute layered necklace with a swimsuit and you can’t forget the scarves.  I love a cute head scarf, You can wear it so many different ways and also tie it on your shorts or basket bag for color. check out my video on instagram @stylesencillo for a short video on how I style a basic black swimsuit.

Well ladies happy swimsuit shopping, Hope you liked this post, Till next post.

Organizing toys

Organizing toys

Hello Beauties! Hope you all are doing well. I’m doing really good. I’m proud that I’m keeping up with all my vision board promises so far. Eating better and working out. I will have a more in-depth Blog post about the sweat app I’m working out with. If you all don’t know what it is follow @sweat on instagram to get a better look at it. Also if you don’t already follow me on instagram give me a follow @stylesencillo and if you click the link on my bio right now the sweat app is only $1, Normally it’s $20. Check it out.

Ok so for today I wanted to share what I did to hide some of my little ones toys! I’m sure all us mamas out there are swimming in new toys from Christmas. Especially if you are like my house. My living room is also the play room, insert eye roll emoji! My house is not big but we love the coziness of it. We also have to live so I try to find ways to keep it nice and tidy. Speaking about keeping things tidy if you want some great organizing tips you have to watch, Tidying up with Marie Kondo on Netflix. Let me tell you I’ve never been happier with my drawers! Watch it and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

For toys, Especially when you have to keep them in your living room like I do. Baskets Baskets and more Baskets. You can’t beat these. They look cute and it’s easy for the little ones to get the toys out and easy to teach clean up. I’m big on teaching my kids to pick up after themselves. My older son is 15 and let me  just say you will never see dirty clothes on his floor, I taught him early to always place dirty laundry in his hamper. So same with toys. I purchased these baskets at Home goods, I mean who doesn’t love Home goods. They have so many different ones and at great prices. They look cute in my living room and Breakers happy he has his toys accessible to him. So we all win!

For the small dresser I purchased this from Ikea and it was just a wood color with ugly knobs. I removed the knobs painted it a color that I wanted as an accent color in my living room. I still haven’t committed to knobs, LOL! But I’m going to look for some soon. This was the best $40 I’ve spent, And that’s the price with dresser and paint. I have some more Toys organized in here as well. I mostly put his hot wheel tracks and train tracks in here. Keeps it so neat and easy for him to get them out himself when he feels like building a city. And looks cute near my couch!

Well that’s how I hide his toys and keep my sanity. And keeps my living room looking nice. Hope you all liked this post and happy organizing!
