Back to school chit chat!

Back to school chit chat!

Hello my friends! How are all my Mamas doing with back to school?! We had first day yesterday and oh my was I nervous! I even felt sick on Monday. I wasn’t sure if I was getting sick or just nerves. Well turns out it was nerves. I was praying so hard that Breaker has a great first day. Drop off was scary for me not him. I shed a few tears under my glasses. He was all smiles! Me and the hubby waited until they walked into class and we walked away feeling so weird. Leaving our baby for a full day of big boy school. Pre-school was different I knew it was 3 hours and mommy would be there before he can miss me. But kindergarten is big time! Well we went to breakfast to try to enjoy our morning and the place we go to we see nothing but parents with their babies. I mean just hurt our hearts more. Reminiscing about those fun days when he would sit in a high chair eat mum mums and make us smile. But we knew our strong boy would be fine. So of course what do we do?! We be creepy parents and pass by school early to see if we see him,LOL! Of course we get there early we wait, Bell rings and we are off to get him from class. Walks out with the biggest smile ever saying how much he loves school! Omg mom and dad were all smiles! He even tells us he wants to say bye to his teacher. He gives her a hug and she tells me he’s a joy to have in class, a dream so great! My heart felt so warm to see that and hear that. I know we are going to be just fine.

My Big boy had a great day! I mean sophomore year!!! He’s busy and he’s devoted to school! I know he will do great! I wish him the funnest year and I know he will achieve all his goals!

My morning routine went smooth. If I can share any advice is try to do as much as you can the night before! I lay out all their clothes, prep what’s going in lunches and I shower Breaker! Gives me more time in the morning and gives me that not so rushed feeling. I like to send the boys off to school not stressed. So rushing is just a no for me. Will see if we can keep it up all year long! So when’s Christmas break?! Lol

Happy back to school! Till next post!

Back to school checklist!

Back to school checklist!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a great week so far. I know we still have another month of summer, But I always feel once the kids go back to school, Summer is over, LOL! I mean the heat lingers on until October but summer fades away. I’m looking forward to fall weather, Pumpkin spice and halloween, too soon?! But before Pumpkin spice we have to get these kiddos back to school.

So I’ve been doing this for a while, My David is entering sophomore year so I consider myself a Pro. No not really, but I’ve done first day of school enough times to know. And I’m being sarcastic, LOL! I forgot a lot of stuff when it’s the start of kindergarten. So I’m sharing a few things that might help you in the future or if you are going through this now. I found myself running around yesterday getting last minute things done because I wasn’t prepared for these very little but important steps.

Very important and also something we might not realize until we are told. I didn’t realize Breaker’s immunization card wasn’t updated, I know he was updated with all his vaccinations, but it was not recorded on his card. So the school said without that he can’t start. Thank goodness he starts next week. I called the Dr and had the card updated. So just remember and make sure the immunization cards are updated. It’s very important.

If you have a child in sports, make sure they have physicals done. Kids will not be able to practice until a complete physical is complete and if you wait till the last minute, You will be running around trying to get appointments in and proper paper work filled out. Believe me try to get the appointments done ahead of time.

Those are important because you know dealing with Dr’s offices aren’t always a fast turnaround. The rest is basically just making sure kids have proper attire for school, School supplies most schools and classes give list for what’s needed the first week of school. So I normally just buy the basics, and shop for the rest once I have the list from teachers. It saves time and money. Sometimes we buy things they don’t need.

And lastly just relax and try to breathe and enjoy the beginning of school. I’ve learned to just be understanding especially to my oldest. I know the first month of school for him is just trying to find a system that works for him. He’s pretty busy this school year. So I will just try to help when I can and make sure he’s not slacking off, But most important making sure he stays healthy physically and mentally. And for my Breaker, He’s already having a hard time understanding he will be there longer and M-F, LOL! But I know he will love it. How mom feels, TO BE Continued!

Happy first Day of school to everyone and Cheers Mamas, We made it through another summer!

A Mother’s worry

A Mother’s worry

Hello my friends! Hope you all are enjoying the summer! I know kids are gearing back to go to school. We are preparing for school over at our house. Which brings me to my post today.

So with all the news right now about the El Paso Texas shooting and Ohio shooting just gives me so much anxiety. Never in a million years did I ever think just sending my kids off to school would make me worry so much about stuff like this.

Growing up Mom would drop us off at school to learn and it was a place she knew we would be safe while she was working. Now I can’t help to have major anxiety every time I drop my Dave off at school. I try to have a positive mind and even my Dave doesn’t seem worried. So I like that he goes to school happy and positive. But as a mom I can’t help but worry about my babies.

It’s sad sad that we even worry about going to a public place now. I hate that even if I see someone with a back pack makes me nervous. Us moms have a million worries a day, I pray everyday that something changes. So we don’t have to fear sending our kids to school or even walk into our local target or Walmart. I pray hard very hard this changes.

As we send our kids off to school this year lets pray together, that we don’t have any shootings. Sending love and hugs to all the worried moms. Let’s have positive thoughts for the sake of our babies.

New school year Goals

New school year Goals

Hello Everyone! How are all my LA people doing in the heat! Seriously it’s so hot. My kids just want to be in the house. Luckily the nights are beautiful outside. We try to get outside at night. Even if it’s just for ice cream. Just trying to enjoy the last week of summer Break for us 3. David starts high school next week. He’s excited. Which is why I wanted to write about the goals we have for this school year.

So I officially have a high school student on my hands. I’m so proud of the man he’s becoming. He’s such a sweet person. Very caring about everyone. My wish for him this year is to have fun, get good grades. Try something new and meet new people. Last year we did have some bumps in the road. But we got through them together and he worked hard. I want David to enjoy high school. This year we agreed he would join some clubs. He has a good set of friends so I love that. These days kids can be so mean and with social media it can really effect them in different ways. I wish him an exciting first year of high school.

My pre-schooler Breaker. This little guy is getting so big. My baby is growing up. It’s bitter-sweet. I want him to be a baby. But I love to see him grow into his little personality. He’s a character that’s for sure. This year I wish for him to get better at writing his name all by himself. Learn to read a full book alone. We will start to look into putting him into sports this year since he will be 5. We are thinking soccer. So stay tuned, LOL! I wish for a fun pre-school year and to prepare for kindergarten!

For mommy! As for this year, I plan on being easier on myself. I struggle with giving myself too much. I want to be more present in my head. If I can’t complete one task it’s ok, I have tomorrow. I’m here for my boys to make their school year great. I’m looking forward to the me time I’ll be getting while both boys are at school. I plan on taking more  of those free days to do one fun thing for myself. Last year I felt I was trying to do too much in the few hours Breaker was at school. I felt more tired. I need to tell myself it’s ok to put that cleaning aside or leave target errands till later. I plan on working from a coffee shop more. Getting more walks in at the rose bowl. Finding a yoga class that I’ve been wanting to take again. I feel if I take care of my needs I’ll be way better to my boys.

Family school year goals. I want to really put our phones away at night and be more in the moment. I’ll admit we do have our phones at the table for dinner. But that’s going to stop. I want us as a family to still do one fun family thing a month. We did some fun things this summer and we enjoyed the family time with us 4. We get caught up with a lot once school starts, so making the time to be a family should be a top priority.

Here are a few snap shots of our summer. We did have a nice summer vacay. Love my boys so much!

Hope you enjoyed this post! Till next post.

Back to school shopping

Back to school shopping

Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well! This week has been a little slow for me on the blog/Instagram side. The last couple days I’ve been feeling a little tired. So I haven’t had any desire to shoot any content, But I can’t wait to create more. It’s hard to shoot content when I’m feeling 50% myself. But I’m feeling better today. So today I want to show you all my favorite’s from the ever so popular Nordstrom Anniversary sale!

The boys are back at school end of August. So we are making list and getting ready for the new school year. It’s an exciting year for David. He’s a freshman! He’s been having a blast this summer. This summer is the first that he actually has hung out with his group of buddies so much. I love that. They have all been friends since kindergarten. And it’s also the first time he’s wanting to pick his own clothes. Usually I pick out everything. But this year he found his way to express his style and I couldn’t be happier. I think kids expressing themselves with clothes is so fun. He loves color. And I’m not mad at that. So for back to school I’m leaving it to him. All mom is picking out are more leisure wear and gym shoes. These are my picks for David( 14 years old).

Now for my Breaker. Mommy still picks out all his clothes! This little guy will be back to his pre-school. He is turning 5 this November, But if you are a parent and aware of the “cut off” for starting kindergarten you will know why.  We kind of like this cut off because he’s still baby to us. I feel he wouldn’t even be ready for a real full-time school schedule yet. I’m really happy we will be back to his pre-school. We love everyone there. For this little guy comfort is key! And clothes I won’t care about getting a little stained, Mom’s ya feel me! I normally like to shop target for his school clothes. But these are my picks for Breaker that will be perfect for the transition into the cooler days ,I’m so wishing for.

And for Mom! I mean Mom’s should get some back to school stuff too! Some of the things I really look forward to when the boys are back to school, are running fast errands alone. I get so much done in the little time Breaker is at school. Who else hates making more than 2 stops when you have a kid in a car seat? I see your hands Mamas, LOL! So one of the perks of the boys in school is running those fast errands. And another of my favorites is taking a walk around the Rose bowl to clear my head feel some air and just let go of stress. Once the weather cools down I will be back around the rose bowl. So these are my picks that will have me back to school ready.

So Ladies these are my Nordstrom Anniversary sale picks. Sale ends August 5, so get your shopping on! Till next post.

Back to school style

Back to school style

Hello Hermosas! Monday has me a little shook today! It came way too fast and I feel like I had so much to do this morning! Hence why my blog post is a little later than usual! But it’s up, YES! Today I just wanted to share some back to school ideas for our lovely teenagers. Sorry if this is just boy items, LOL! I’m a mom of boys. But girls are a little more open to shopping and picking their own cute stuff out. As for boys well at least my 13-year-old he’s not a big shopper. But these are David approved! I’ll list my favorite stores for our growing boys. My son is on the taller side, so we are in-between kids and adult sizes. I also love to keep his back to school items simple and versatile.

For Clothes we usually prefer H&M, not only do they have the newest styles it’s also pretty affordable. I usually go for a dark denim, light denim and black. You can’t go wrong with these colors. We also try to stick to solid Tees, so he can either throw on a cool jacket or cardigan once the weather gets cold. A jean jacket is such a good staple item to have as well.

IMG_1321

For shoes My son is a big VANS fan. I like them as well because they last pretty well. He usually goes for the fun print ones. It’s like his accessory. But also has more simple styles. These are his picks!

IMG_1319

Socks ok so if you’re a mom you know socks disappear, LOL! It’s like where do they go?! Our favorite place to get socks is Urban outfitters. They always have a 3 for $20 deal and the quality of the socks are really good. David prefers a more printed fun sock again it’s like his accessory.

IMG_1320

Back packs I’ve always bought his from Tilly’s they always have great deals on back packs for back to school!

This rounds up my Back to school shopping list for David. Now it’s time to get those school supplies! Our favorite is Target they have the best deals and not to mention a one stop shop! Good luck Mamas on the back to school madness! I hope this was helpful!

Pre-school back to school outfits

Pre-school back to school outfits

Hi Hermosas! Can’t believe it’s the weekend again. I’m not complaining! I also can’t believe our kiddos start school soon. My oldest starts mid-August. I’ll be doing a teen back to school post soon, So look out for that. I’m also feeling mixed emotions, because my little one is starting pre-school in August. I was very fortunate to stay home with him since birth, and he’s almost 4. So this little guy needs to start school. I’m excited for him to get out and learn to socialize in school. And for me I’m looking forward to having some time to myself. I’m sure every Mama can relate!

I thought a pre-school back to school post would be cool! I know us Mamas have to get back to school shopping done. I’m sharing a brand I love and is totally affordable. I also like that they are a more comfortable wear for the kids. Not to mention easy for those still learning to potty on their own(yes that’s mine), Lol!

I put together a few outfit choices. Breaker owns most of these items and they are so versatile. I don’t have a little girl, but I love to look at all the cute items they have for little ladies. I put together a few girl choices that I thought were cute. All these items can be purchased on Target.com or in-store. Breaker is wearing a 4T. Which still has room for our ever so fast growing little ones. Hope I was able to help with some back to school shopping! Ladies don’t forget I have a giveaway going on. In my Beauty post favorites under $20. Giveaway ends Monday. Hope you lovely ladies have a great weekend!
