Hello my friends! How are you all doing? I hope you all are great. I seriously can’t complain. We’ve had a nice first month of summer break. The kids are so good. Besides me being in the kitchen a lot more, I think we all have a system. We’ve also been doing family night walks around the neighborhood which is great. I’m seriously in shock that we are in July already. July is special over here on the blog. I posted my very post on July 3rd. And today is my second year blog anniversary. I’m seriously so proud. I’m going to walk you down some of my blogging thoughts from the past 2 years.
My first post I was nervous, excited and a little scared. But I was super confident I wanted to do this so that’s why I clicked post! I had so much to share, I was missing the fashion in my life and I was missing that outside contact. I had been a stay at home for 3 years when I decided to take the plunge. I talk more about why I started my Blog here.
So fast forwarding to my one year. Now you would think I wasn’t nervous or scared, and you would think my confidence had gotten stronger. Oh no it was opposite. My confidence had dropped a little. Not with myself oh no, that I found and I won’t let that go ever! I didn’t have the confidence in the blogging world. I hadn’t seen much growth and I wasn’t enjoying it that much. I felt it was a chore rather than what I felt when I started. I hated the way I was feeling about my blog. But with the confidence I had in myself I kept on. And decided to take a different approach and just be a little more raw and share a little more of who I was. Rather than the latest outfits and what to wear. I mean don’t get me wrong it’s what I love to share but I decided to add more family and more of who I am everyday.
And now fast forward to today I’m at my 2nd year of blogging and I’ve honestly changed my entire approach on this world of blogging. I decided to not care so much about the numbers. Because I still haven’t reached the growth I’d like. One of my vision board goals last year was to get my first sponsored post. That hasn’t happened for me. I’ve reached out to companies and I either get a no because my follower count isn’t high enough or I just don’t get answered. But that’s ok, I tried. I don’ t let the No’s get me down. I started the blog to feel a void in my life I had missed. And it has done that for me, I’ve also got to meet some nice ladies that I would have never come in contact with if I hadn’t started the Blog. So for that I’m thankful and happy. I will continue to share from my heart and I know my time will come. Your girl has a dream to collab with a shoe company and have the Stylesencillo shoe! I mean I have goals, LOL! Again I want to thank all of you who take the time to read my post and follow my road of blogging. Even if I have only influenced one person, I can go on another year happy! Cheers to another 365 days of Stylesencillo.
Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well. The rain finally stopped in LA for now. And we are taking full advantage of that. I’m really looking forward to spring time. Just not the allergies we all get, LOL! I’m also pumped for summer this year, I can’t wait to have some summer fun.
Today I wanted to share some fun ways I like to make basic pieces look trendy. I’m big on not buying such trendy pieces. I’ve always gravitated towards basics. I also try to find trendy pieces at budget friendly places.
I think everyone should own a few different black tops. From a regular tee to a fun crop or a sweater. Black tops can go with anything and be styled with just about anything. My favorite is the black tee. A more relaxed fit is a plus, You can tuck it in or tie it to the front or back. Or even wear a spaghetti top or dress over. It’s just a staple you need to have in your closet. In white as well. I love my tees from Zara. They are under $10 and I love how soft they feel. I usually buy about 3 at a time. As well with white. And sometimes in Pink.
To make a regular black tee trendy I would add a hat or some cool trendy earrings that will make that Tee pop. Accessories are the items I usually buy trendy. You can find a great selection at forever 21. The earrings are so good there. I love me cute trendy earrings. Add a cute scarf to your black tee and you create a whole different look. Just have fun with adding trendy pieces on a budget.
Another look I like is a crop top. I have them in short sleeve and long sleeve. The long sleeve I like to dress it up more. I love pairing this one with a skirt or even some cute trousers. It just adds a little fun twist on the basics. I also love crop tops under overalls. It just makes the overalls looks so much more feminine.
This was short and sweet about basics. Hope you liked this post. Till next post!
Hello Ladies! Today’s post is quite special to me. It’s officially my 12 month blog post. My very first post was posted on July 1st 2017, introducing my site. July 3, 2017 was my first official fashion post. I couldn’t be more proud of myself. The fact that I’m writing this after sticking with it for a full year is the best feeling. If you are new to reading my blog. I’ve written an update post for every month since I started. I wanted to do this for me or anyone that might be interested in starting a blog or anything they might have thought about. Basically my diary of my first year blogging. It was important for me to do this.
How I came up with the name for my blog. Ok so this was probably one of the hardest things to do when I started. I think it took me a month to really come up with something. I would write things down constantly. Has anyone ever had to think of a name or things to describe yourself. I was starting to think, Damn am I boring or what, LOL! It was a struggle. I wanted it to be me. Besides my Mom, the other special person in my life is my Grandma. She only speaks Spanish, I don’t. So growing up we spoke to her in English and she responded in Spanish. And it worked she understood us and we understood her. And to me that was always a special thing we had with my grandma. If I need to define my style its Simple. Whether its fashion, home decor, My cooking etc. So I thought perfect. I will do half english and half Spanish. And after days of thinking I came up with Stylesencillo (simple style). I love it and I hope you all like the meaning behind it.
So in a Year what have I learned. I’ve learned a lot. But not necessarily about Blogging. I’m still learning that. What I learned is much deeper than blogging. I learned to give myself more credit. I am my worst critic. I felt I was so hard on myself in the beginning. To the point where it wasn’t fun for me. It was adding more stress to my day. Social media can be a hard thing. We are always looking at others and thinking we need to be like them. I had a break where I was like wait. What are you doing?! I promised myself that I would stay me. I decided to be more laid back. If I couldn’t go shopping for the newest styles I would look in my closet and create an outfit from something I already had. I decided to show more of my family life because that’s who I am. I’m a mom and a wife first. I love my family more than fashion. So why not add fam and fashion together. Once I decided that would be my road for my blog. I swear it took a load of stress off me. I love mommy blogging. I love sharing mommy things and family things. Fashion will always be apart of my Blog because it’s still a big part of me. But it’s not important.
So what has changed after a year of blogging. My confidence has grown so much. And for that I’m so happy. I’ve become more in the moment type of person. I was always such a worrier about everything. I have really started enjoying every minute of life. My kids are so important to me and I don’t want to miss a second. Blogging has also gotten us to venture out more. Because I love sharing with all of you. We’ve become more spontaneous. I love it. And can’t wait to share more.
What are my goals for blogging. I plan on going on and on until life doesn’t allow me to do it. As long as blogging doesn’t interfere with my family I will keep going. I would love to grow as a blogger and grow my followers. Hoping others find me and like me. I would love to see what blogging can bring to me as a career. I’m putting this out there in the world that one day, with lots of work and my heart in it. I hope to one day make this a very successful blog where I can hire a team of ladies that will inspire me and others. And to give back to others. I love helping people and right now blogging is fulfilling those needs of helping others. It might be just one or two, but knowing my blog can inspire or help someone brings me so much joy.
I want to thank my Photographer that has been by my side the entire time. She has been such a great friend. I am so thankful that starting my Blog I’ve gained a really great friend. My hubby he has been the best. He’s my #1 cheerleader. He deals with my craziness. My kids are troopers. I love them. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my post. I appreciate all of you. Till next post.
Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well! I’m doing well. The boys have been so good. We are getting a schedule that works for us and we can’t wait for some more summer fun!
Today I wanted to share a few things I do for me. As a stay at home mom I think it’s easy to let certain things go. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t. I want to keep up with things I love to do for myself.
Everyone is different, and we all have unique things that make us feel good. So I say do them and remember to take care of yourself. We have an entire house of loved ones that count on us everyday so it’s important to keep ourselves feeling good.
Exercise is probably one of the most important that I do 5 times a week. As I get older I have to start worrying about different health issues. I recently had a physical and everything checked out great. I feel having an exercise plan that fits you is key to a healthy life. Not to mention exercising has helped me with anxiety. It’s something I do alone for myself. I wake up early to get it done. With the boys home I wake up early so I can have that time to myself before they get up. It’s my kind of meditation in the morning. I’ve been hooked on The fitness Marshall on YouTube. I do about 4 dance videos and I’ll do a few workouts with weights. I have seen such a difference on the outside and most important on the inside of how I see myself. I say try it! Create a workout plan for you and try to do something that you enjoy. I never leave my house to workout so you don’t have to belong to a gym or have a personal trainer. Good luck ladies!
Alone time! I’m always with the kids or the hubby. So I make sure to get some alone time away from home. Some of my favorite alone time things to do. I go shopping even if it’s just to look. I love walking the mall and just feeling free, browsing at my favorite stores. Grabbing a coffee alone. Or just going for a drive alone listening to music in the car with the windows down. That’s the best.
Grooming! Something I promised myself is to keep up with grooming. I get haircuts every 5 weeks to make me feel good. I get Mani and Pedi’s on a regular basis. I have eyelash extensions that make me feel good. These might seem petty to others but to me it’s important. I love feeling good on the outside too. It’s for me and only for me. Not to mention I count these as alone time. And the hubby is so good and encouraging. He loves this about me.
Going out for drinks! I enjoy hanging out with friends or the hubby. It’s a time I can have adult conversation and just relax. Nothing wrong with having a little time to enjoy! Cheers ladies!
Hello beauties! A week flew by so fast. I don’t know about you all but the time is on warp speed. I remember as a kid a week would feel like an eternity. As an adult geez, It’s like slow down I still have things to do. We’ve been busy so far this month. It’s a fun-filled month of family things. I really cherish family time. We have my uncles who is also my godfather(AKA Nino) his 60th birthday party and Mother’s day. So a very nice family filled weekend.
Today’s post is a long flirty dress look. I wanted to show you a possible Mother’s day outfit or just a fun spring look when you’re feeling extra flirty. I love long flowy dresses. I mean who doesn’t want to look cute and feel comfortable at the same time.
This dress I went with leopard print. I love leopard print but don’t wear it as much. When I saw this dress I knew I had to have it. I can wear it with sandals or heels to dress it up a little more. I can add a jean jacket to give it a casual look or a moto jacket to give it a more edgy look. This material is so soft and the cut is perfect. I purchased this dress from Zara it was a great price too. Another look I’m really liking is long girly dresses with sneakers. I think that look is perfect for mom’s running after little ones.
I also found these that are super cute and you can make them dressy or casual. Also from Zara! These kind of dresses are also perfect for trips. Less packing when you don’t have to pack top and bottoms. I know dresses will be on my packing list for sure. So easy and not so much thought. I’ve really got into making more time for me to get ready. I’m enjoying getting dressed up and just having more fun with style. Remember if you feel good about yourself life just seems a little easier. And taking time to fix yourself up a little more is a good step towards that.
A special note to all my Mamas out there. Happy Mother’s day! Being a Mom is so rewarding but also tough. We are very hard on ourselves and don’t give ourselves the credit we deserve. We are all doing a great job the way we know what’s best for Our kids. So every mom is unique and that’s what makes us all so special.
Hope you all enjoyed this post! and maybe some ideas to wear for Mother’s day! Till next post!
Hello Ladies! Hope you all are doing well. I’m doing great. I’ve been trying to get creative and think of new fun stuff for my blog. I want to keep you all entertained. I’m also sprucing up my living room, so that’s been fun. When we first moved into this house I was pregnant with Breaker, so it was perfect the way I wanted. Over the last 4 years It’s turned into a pre-school with toys everywhere. So I’m cleaning house. I’m taking spring cleaning serious! I have a DIY in the works so I can’t wait to share with you all. I’m not sure if I’ll do a before pic of my living room looking like a toys r us threw up and how it turns out. Will see!
Talking spring, I can’t believe it’s already near next week. The best part is the time change. I love having more daylight. We always take full advantage of this time change. When the hubby gets home it’s still light out and we go for a nice family walk to get some exercise. It truly is the best!
Today I wanted to share a style that still works for winter , But can easily transition your style into spring. I love me a good blazer. I used to buy so many when I worked in an office. They look cute over dresses, with a skirt, a matching set and my favorite with a pair of jeans. This look is so classy and chic. You can wear it buttoned up or un-buttoned for a more casual look.
My look I went with a houndstooth print and some boyfriend ripped jeans. Shoes are also a good transition into spring. I will get more into spring style shoes on next weeks blog post, So stay tuned. With a blazer look you don’t have to spend a lot on a Blazer. This one I have on is from Forever 21. You can find so many cute Blazers for a really good price and they don’t look or feel cheap. I’m also living for floral blazers right now. I saw one at Target I have to go snag!
Jeans I’m a big fan of comfy jeans. I can’t wear anything that is too tight or no stretch. I just don’t think sitting down in a pair of uncomfortable jeans is fun. We have so many options these days for a nice pair of jeans. I’ve been loving Zara jeans, they are always stylish, comfy and to mention great price point. I used to spend $200 plus on jeans and I just can’t see myself doing that anymore. Zara jeans have been a really good option for the price and quality.
I hope you ladies liked this post and get some inspo from my style. Enjoy the extra daylight and have a great rest of the week! Till next post.
Hi ladies! How’s February treating you? This weather is not so Winter in LA. I’m looking forward to spring. I’m really into floral looks. I can’t wait to buy some more for spring. My son turned 14 on February 2nd. I can’t believe it. He’s becoming a young man. Such a good boy, Love you Dave.
So who goes all out for Valentine’s day? I myself love it. I look forward to buying little valentine cards for my kids class. This year it’s Breaker’s Turn. His first Valentine school celebration. He’s having a pizza party! Of course I’m making my easy pizza for the class! Check out the recipe if you haven’t already.
Today I’m sharing a very simple romantic look that would be perfect for a valentine date. I know red is a popular color for valentine’s day. But for some reason when I think of the day, I see pink! I went with a pop of pink. But you can totally wear this with a pop of red!
I ordered this dress online from Zara when the big sale was going on. I scored this dress for less than $25. The shoes I also got on sale for under $50 online from Nordstrom. They are Top Shop brand. My earrings were a gift from my sis. She got them at Target my favorite brand Baublebar by sugar fix. They have so many cute styles that will make any spring/summer outfit perfect! You can use any black clutch or if you have a cute pink or red purse, you can always wear black shoes and use a bag for a pop of color. Hope you ladies like the look! I’ll link everything below.
A little blog update! If you are new to my blog, I update every month. I’m going to do this until I hit my one year. It’s for myself to document the feelings I had throughout my first year of blogging. It’s not easy at times. I’m a full-time stay at home mom. I was a working mom with my first son and I can honestly say it was easier to go to work. And this is from my experience. Not speaking for anyone. I think every mom rocks! And no mom has it easier. Blogging has helped me feel alive as a women. Getting more into it, I’m truly enjoying blogging. I have my days still that I doubt myself. The hubby says I’m too hard on myself. I still need to learn to not compare myself to others and just be true to who I am. It’s a work in progress. I live for when people say they like my blog. Even if it’s just one person. It makes me so happy! I love to share with you all! So thank you for reading. Don’t forget to follow along on Instagram. I’m going to start posting more outfit looks! I want to start including more daily easy looks. I mean let’s get real I don’t look put together almost 80% of the time, LOL! Till next post! Have a great rest of the week and lovely weekend.
Dress– not the one I’m wearing but similar. Any LBD will work!
