Hello Ladies! So who in LA is a little tired of this rain?! Ok I know we need it but so many day’s just gets depressing. I think it’s going to start clearing up and Now I get to take some photos for some new content, LOL!
I wanted to start a Chit Chat post. I tried it last year and I liked just catching up and writing about what’s new in my life. So with that here’s the 1st one for 2019.
I’ve been pretty good. Still going strong with my workouts. I will give a better update on the app I’m using next post. January is always one of those months that you feel obligated to have all this energy and drive to be the best you can. But honestly after all the holidays back to back and the end of the year madness. January is the most tired for me. I’m honestly finally recharged. I’m feeling more creative and I really want to push myself on the blog to step out of my comfort zone. Blogging isn’t easy, but I love it so much. So I continue. One day I will feel accomplished with my Blog!
Family life has been great. You know same mom stuff that goes on everyday. My older son just had his 15th birthday and that was fun. I swear ladies it goes fast. I remember just going back to work crying because I had to leave my little brand new baby. And now he’s this young adult that is just the sweetest son. We celebrated with his closest buddy’s it was really sweet. We had lunch and cake at home and went bowling. It was really cool and highly recommend Highland park bowl. If you are in LA check it out. They do cater to 21 and over more, But kids are allowed before 8pm. The boys had fun and my son was happy. We ordered his cake from my fav with a pinch of love and cake topper from my fav Auntieapple. Check them both out if you are in the LA area.
Having a teenager is not easy. I have moments where I feel like I’m failing. But we move forward and I realize it’s him growing up. The best advice I’ve been given to deal with teenagers is, talk to them like adults. They don’t want to be talked down to. They comprehend what we do and they need to be talked to like we would like to be talked to. I really try to keep that in my mind when I’m having a discussion with my teenager. And it has helped us. I’m lucky I have a good kid. I’m still learning. But everyday I definitely appreciate my mom more and more. So if you’re a mom of a teenager don’t feel like you’ve hit a wall. Communicating is the best thing. I don’t force things out of him, I allow him to feel comfortable to talk to me. I was doing the forcing thing and it wasn’t working. So just be aware and if it’s not hurting them, Allow them to come to you. Being confrontational just back fires on parents. It makes them nervous. Just a little advice of what I’ve learned.
Well that’s just a little chit-chat with Lisa! Hope you liked it , Till next post!
Hello ladies! Are we all gearing up for Thanksgiving?! It’s been such a busy few weeks. I was in full force party mode for Breaker. I feel bad because I haven’t been able to work on content for my Blog as much as I’d like. But I promise I will get back to it. I’m actually looking forward to 2019. I’m praying we have a great year and if all goes well some fun trips ahead. So stay tuned!
Today I wanted to share some photos of Breaker’s party and some of the great ladies I used and where I purchased the fun treats.
Normally I’ll give a nice first birthday and a nice fifth birthday for my kids. So with this being Breaker’s fifth I put a little more into it. He wanted a PJ Mask theme so that’s what we went with. I personally like to make as much as I can instead of buying the party supplies. The one thing Breaker was focused on was his cake. So I knew the cake table would be my main attraction. I didn’t want to do too much decorating because sometimes it’s just unnecessary spending. Of course balloons! I actually learned how to make a Balloon arch. It’s actually not that hard. Just hard on my hands, LOL! I bought the arch tape at party city that already has the holes to just pop the balloons in. Of course I need practice but hey I think I did pretty good. I ordered the back drop from Amazon. PJ mask is all about the night-time and buildings so I saw this one and it was perfect.
The food! Ok so that’s always the part I stress on. I want everyone to enjoy but I also like it easy for me and not to mention the Birthday Boy had to approve. We went back and forth with what to serve. We ended up just being simple and had pizza. It’s Breaker’s favorite and hey who doesn’t like pizza. We ordered from a local Pizza shop called Follieros it’s great and the salad is tasty. It was perfect.
The cakes, I wanted 3 cakes for each of the characters. His favorite is Cat boy so I wanted that one to be bigger. I was so happy with how they turned out. And they were delicious. She also made the rice krispie treats and again delicious. It was my first time using Lisa from With a pinch of love. She was great to work with and all around great experience. I will be using her again.
The cookies and Cake topper. I have talked about Auntie Apple before, She is great I love working with her. She always kills it and Breaker is always super happy with his cookies. I love supporting women, especially these two women are all around great. Definitely recommend both.
I had a separate little table for the kids that was important. I wanted Breaker to have his little space with his friends and cousins. My sister AKA Nina got all the kids place mats, They were so cute! I ordered the boxes from Shop sweet lulu I also got the popcorn boxes and polka dot balloons from there. They have a lot of cute party supplies. The water bottle print outs and not pictured the Hershey bar covers were from etsy and we just printed them out. I also placed some coloring activity books and play doh for the kids. That kept them busy if they weren’t in the Jumper. Side note always get a Jumper it just makes it fun and keeps the kids entertained.
My sister again Aka Nina drew this adorable life-size Cat Boy for him out of wood. She worked so hard on this. With her busy nurse schedule, she did this for him and we loved it. Best Nina ever.
Hope you all liked this post! I love sharing personal photos with you all. My family life is the most important part of me.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving. From my family to yours!

Today I have my very first Blog recipe. I’m planning to do more of these, So let me know if you all will like this! I love to cook and bake but I don’t really do recipes that call for so many ingredients. I’m the type that if I find a recipe I look at the ingredients, if i don’t have 90% of them I won’t make it! Most of my recipes if they aren’t family traditions, I find them always on Pinterest. This one I’m about to do is from Pinterest that I found over 4 years ago. Shout out to Barely adapted from Anna Olson food network Canada for sharing it on Pinterest!
So if you’ve ever tried a chocolate chip cookie recipe and your cookies came out looking like flat pancakes or hard as a rock. Don’t fear I got you! This cookie recipe will not disappoint. You will have Mrs. Fields looking cookies in less than 30 minutes.
3/4 c. unsalted butter softened
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chocolate chips ( your preference milk, dark or even peanut butter)
- preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer or regular bowl with electric mixer, Cream together butter and sugars until fluffy and light in color. Add Egg and vanilla and blend.
- Mix in flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt. blend and mix in chocolate chips.
- If you have a cookie scoop or tablespoon drop dough onto baking sheet. Remember to always use baking spray or what I like to use is parchment paper, way easier and less mess.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown on edges. Note the tops will not brown and no longer than 10 minutes.
I’m telling you these will be a hit! My kids love them. I also give them out for christmas to neighbors, friends and loved ones. I did share 3 different ways you can wrap your cookies up to give them out to share! Hope you enjoyed this post and let me know if you end up baking these delicious cookies! Have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend! Till next post.
