Easy DIY costumes

Easy DIY costumes

Hello friends! So as you know I’m dedicating my blog to Halloween this month. With just about 2 weeks until Halloween, I figured I’d help out with last minute Halloween costume ideas. I’m sure most Mamas are told by the kiddos what they want to be! But the fun time is when you can pick for them, lol! I was lucky to plan 5 of Breakers costumes! This year he was very serious about what he wanted to be so he picked! And let me tell you he knew since summer time! And is so excited, mom on the other hand I’m just trying to make his costume come to life, lol! Stay tuned I’ll share his costume on Instagram!

So for this post I’m taking you to last years costume! It was so easy this was my INSPO pic I found and I went with it!

His costume was pretty simple. I just put him in black pants, white long sleeve shirt, I ordered the apron and chef hat from amazon. The tie for his shirt I just went to local fabric store got a piece of gingham material and I sewed the tie myself. So all this was simple! For the DIY of it all was the pizza! I just followed a tutorial from Pinterest. I’ll link it here. It wasn’t hard at all just took time to stuff the crust with the pillow filling. Besides that it was just using the hot glue for everything. If I know what I need to make ahead of time , I always start 2 weeks before. So I’m not rushing or getting frustrated. I bought all the felt for pizza at joanns and the stuffing as well. The year before for his costume I made felt donuts which I’ll share a picture below. So I had the stuffing already.

I love a good easy but cute DIY costume! I also love originality because with DIY you can create it yourself and make it a little different. I also have all of his costumes since the first shown. As you can see all DIY lol. The skeleton one that year he was not into dressing up so he agreed to pajamas. Which honestly is a good way to go for a Skelton costume! They can wear it more than once!

I wish I can share some adult ones but I haven’t dressed up in a while! But I did this last year just because I love American horror story the coven so much, I recreated a look that they wear. If you watch you’ll know! You can even make this look sexier if you are going out! Ya I know what’s up! Lol I did have a life before mom life!

Well I hope this was helpful and I can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes! Till next post!

Easy Halloween treat bags

Easy Halloween treat bags

Hello friends! So how’s your week going?! My week is good. I feel like I’ve had busy weeks these last few weeks. I’m really thinking about taking a weekend getaway. Ugh does it sound nice. I’ve been wanting a night away with the hubby for a while. Can you believe we’ve never left breaker over night. He’s almost 6, lol! Like both of us together. I think it’s time very soon! We are going to a concert in a few weeks which I can’t wait!

But for today’s post I’m keeping it Halloween themed just like I said I was all October long! I have the easiest treat bag you can make for your kids class, if you don’t have kids maybe your co-workers, some special neighbors or if you have a fun Halloween party planned! They are so easy and inexpensive. But look supper cute and just a little more special rather than the basic candy bags!

All you need is some mini size paper bags, I got these at Michaels craft store. I also got the ribbon there. Don’t forget to use coupons! You’ll need some scissors and a whole punch!

Super simple just cut a big enough piece of the ribbon so you can make a cute bow! Stuff your bag with whatever treat you’d like, and fold down, make some holes with your hole puncher and pull that ribbon through and wallah! You have a cute mini treat bag! Super easy super cute! And the kids will love to help stuff these with goodies.

Tie Dye DIY

Tie Dye DIY

Hello my friends! So I hope you all are doing great! I’m doing really good, Getting ready for our family vacay. We are headed to Vegas soon. We wanted to get in a family vacay before the kiddos start school. Looking forward to that! So today I wanted to share a quick DIY. So I’ve talked about it on another post and I’m sure you noticed or have already jumped on the trend, Tie Dye! It’s everywhere. I’m loving it! You can find it anywhere. But I thought it would be fun to do some of our own.

We got together Monday and had a fun afternoon of some good old tie dying. My mom used to teach an art class and I remember her doing a tie dye session. She hadn’t done it in a while but her knowledge just came flowing back. My son, my nephew and my niece had never done it so they even enjoyed it. They are teenagers and young adults so that shows you how fun it is. Breaker even jumped in on the fun. He helped me with mine and you’ll see in the photo above that a little heart appeared on it. I thought that was so cute, A heart is our thing.

So first supplies you’ll need the actual dye, you can find these at Joanns fabrics or Michaels craft store. I say go with who ever has the best coupon. You’ll also need a pack of rubber bands they have these also, they have a bag with different sizes. Gloves because it will stain your hands, My mom went in all free and her hands were pretty stained. Bins big enough to put the dye and the hot water you will have to put in, I got mine at 99 cent store. Just follow the directions on the bottle, it’s pretty easy to follow. Pick as many colors as you’d like and if you don’t need a lot they had these small boxed ones that are one time use. I bought a few colors like that.

Pick out whatever you want to dye and set up your station, we did this outside because it will make a mess, if you choose to do this indoors make sure you cover the table you are using. And place your rubber bands on your tee however you like. My mom’s trick was don’t make the rubber bands so neat because you want that funky shape. My son did his by scrunching his shirt up and squirting the dye where he wanted it. We all kind of did different ways. They all came out different so that was cool and we just had fun with it. I think the more imperfect the better it looks. These were the finished products! My advice watch some youtube videos just to get an idea of what you do.

DIY S’mores fire pit

DIY S’mores fire pit

Hello Friends! It’s officially summer and we are all excited for some fun in the sun! I need to even out these tan lines and get to the beach. Fall is my favorite season but summer is the most memorable one. As kids and now as an adult. I love having my kids home and one of my favorites during summer are summer nights. When you know we don’t need to go to bed early for school and we can plan something fun during the week. Those are the best! But most work and parents still need sleep. So This is going to be something you can do at home and make it cozy just outside your door.

Besides hitting the pools and beaches, getting those tans and going on a fun vacay. I love me some S’mores over a camp fire or a bonfire. I mean who doesn’t. This is an easy DIY you can do for those nights at home. When you want some fun family time but don’t want to leave the house. Heres all you need:

First Head over to a home depot or Lowes. You will need a terra-cotta pot I used a 24 inch long pot. You can use a round one too. The fun part is you can pick out whatever you want.

Next you will need  some spray paint. You don’t need to do this but I thought it added to the pot. I purchased this at Michaels craft store and just gave it a good spray. I thought the stone look was fun! Let it dry really good before the next step.

Facetune_25-06-2019-20-06-59

While you are at Home depot or Lowes. Pick up some black polished pebbles to add inside your terra-cotta pot. Get enough to fill up the pot you have chosen. Once your pot is dried add these all the way to the top with a little room so not overflowing.

Next Hit up your local smart and final or party city and grab some of these burners. place on top of the rocks secure it so you know they won’t tip over. Light them up and grab your goodies from your local target to make some yummy S’mores. I love that target has the square marshmallows. So much easier to make your S’more, and enjoy! This is great for your patio or you can even set up a fun S’more bar for a summer party. You can also add recess peanut cups, dark chocolate or anything you like for a fun S’more bar.

Hope you liked this post and I hope you enjoy your summer! If you end up making one tag me on Instagram @stylesencillo . Till next post!
