Hello my friends! So this is going to be short and sweet! I’ve kept my Halloween theme for the entire month of October. I seriously can’t believe October is over! We’ve had a blast this month. My kids love Halloween, so I really tried to make it feel like Halloween all month. Disneyland was a big highlight, going to Boo at the zoo was super fun. Highly recommend both for next year!
I figured a day before Halloween blog post would be tough, I mean seems like most parties were last weekend. So I thought to give you some dinner ideas if you are having people over to trick or treat!
I mean ordering pizza is always an easy way to go but if you have more time, check out my pizza recipe! It’s always a hit! Spaghetti is always a hit with a crowd and Easy! I’ll be making meatball sandwiches this year, it’s only a few of us so it will be easy and fun! Some chili beans with hot dogs is always fun too!
Even though the kids will be getting tons of candy dessert is always fun! Check out my ice cream sandwiches! I’ll be surprising Breaker and David with a chocolate cake! Like I said they take Halloween serious so why not celebrate with a cake!
Wishing everyone a fun and safe Halloween! Till next post!
Hi friends! It’s getting closer to Halloween and I love seeing all the creative costumes! Halloween is so fun. This year we didn’t have any Halloween parties but I love to at least attend one Halloween event. We’ve done Disneyland which we love! Obviously most are more scary and not for the little ones. So that’s why we decided Boo at the Zoo!
The price is perfect and who doesn’t love the zoo! We’d been trying to get to the zoo for a while. But it’s just so hot during summer although LA fall is basically an extension on summer, mornings are pretty cool! We headed out when it opened at 10am and it was a perfect Sunday!
So what’s the zoo offer for Boo at the zoo! I mean aside from the pumpkins they give to the animals to eat which was cute to see! They have trick or treating and a fun haunted maze, kid friendly! Arts and crafts for kiddos to enjoy and everyone is welcome to wear costumes.
I recommend taking the little ones it’s so cute! Don’t forget to feed the giraffes, it’s $5 a person but so worth it! Get a picture! We also bought all day tram ride tickets, we loved this and breaker enjoyed it! The zoo is not known for the fun food , beside the almonds that I love! I did see a lot of people with packed lunches and they have such a cute park area for the kids to play.
This weekend is the last weekend! So honestly if you have a free weekend and little ones that enjoy animals and Halloween I’d say head out to Boo at the Zoo!
Till next post!
Hello friends! So as you know I’m dedicating my blog to Halloween this month. With just about 2 weeks until Halloween, I figured I’d help out with last minute Halloween costume ideas. I’m sure most Mamas are told by the kiddos what they want to be! But the fun time is when you can pick for them, lol! I was lucky to plan 5 of Breakers costumes! This year he was very serious about what he wanted to be so he picked! And let me tell you he knew since summer time! And is so excited, mom on the other hand I’m just trying to make his costume come to life, lol! Stay tuned I’ll share his costume on Instagram!
So for this post I’m taking you to last years costume! It was so easy this was my INSPO pic I found and I went with it!
His costume was pretty simple. I just put him in black pants, white long sleeve shirt, I ordered the apron and chef hat from amazon. The tie for his shirt I just went to local fabric store got a piece of gingham material and I sewed the tie myself. So all this was simple! For the DIY of it all was the pizza! I just followed a tutorial from Pinterest. I’ll link it here. It wasn’t hard at all just took time to stuff the crust with the pillow filling. Besides that it was just using the hot glue for everything. If I know what I need to make ahead of time , I always start 2 weeks before. So I’m not rushing or getting frustrated. I bought all the felt for pizza at joanns and the stuffing as well. The year before for his costume I made felt donuts which I’ll share a picture below. So I had the stuffing already.
I love a good easy but cute DIY costume! I also love originality because with DIY you can create it yourself and make it a little different. I also have all of his costumes since the first shown. As you can see all DIY lol. The skeleton one that year he was not into dressing up so he agreed to pajamas. Which honestly is a good way to go for a Skelton costume! They can wear it more than once!
I wish I can share some adult ones but I haven’t dressed up in a while! But I did this last year just because I love American horror story the coven so much, I recreated a look that they wear. If you watch you’ll know! You can even make this look sexier if you are going out! Ya I know what’s up! Lol I did have a life before mom life!
Well I hope this was helpful and I can’t wait to see everyone’s costumes! Till next post!
Hello friends! Happy October! If you don’t know already, I absolutely love this month! I feel like it’s a fun month for creativity. Whether it’s making your costumes, making party treats or just good old home decorations. It’s just such a fun month! Not to mention my kids love Halloween! Yesterday morning when I turned on nick Jr for Breaker he was ecstatic that the logo was Halloween style, lol! Running around the house saying it’s October 1st I’m so excited for Halloween.
So with that said , I’m dedicating this month to Halloween on the blog! Each week I’ll have a new Halloween themed blog up! This week I’m starting with a simple table set up for a Halloween themed cookies and cocktails! I love a theme!
The table I kept simple! Fresh flowers are always a must. I kept it skeleton theme. And I liked the idea of cookies and cocktails. Of course you can have a food spread, a charcuterie board is always perfect! You can even ask each guest to bring cookies, to make it more fun. Halloween themed of course! And don’t forget the cocktails. I’d keep it simple maybe some champagne or a simple not so sweet cocktail. Sangria is always fun! I purchased the cool skeleton straws at party city, I thought they were a cool touch.
The cookies I mean are you dead from how cute they are! These are so cute and just add such a perfect touch for the theme! These are from , With a pinch of love! She makes the cutest cookies and treats. And can match any theme you’d like! I’d say the perfect part of a Halloween party! Even for classes or co-workers! I’ll leave her info below! Order early, and head over to my Instagram for her cute treat bags she makes!
Invite your favorite girl pals over and to set the mood of Halloween, set a theme to dress code. You can do pajama party, black and white! You can have each girl make a Halloween inspired headband and maybe have a contest on best headband! Or make it chic and have it cocktail dress attire!
Hope you liked this simple table set up! Till next spooky post!

Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing well! I’m over here just gearing up for my Vacay! I leave this Sunday. I’m feeling all the feels, excited, scared, sad and nervous. Leaving the boys is so hard. But this mama needs a break. I’m looking forward to this recharge. Don’t forget to follow along with me on IG. And I’ll be posting a blog on my vacay once I’m back.
So Today’s Blog post is going to be short but sweet. I wanted to share some family friendly Halloween activities to get us in the Halloween spirit. With it being the first week of October thought this was perfect to let you all in on some. Some I list I have attended , Some I haven’t yet. And I’ll give an idea that won’t break the bank.
First is probably my favorite so far Mickey’s Halloween party! But I’m not sure if tickets are still available. I did do a full post on this last year when we attended. We sat this year out because of my trip I was just a little overwhelmed. But we will definitely be there next year.
Second is Ghost Train at Griffith park, we did this a few years back. Breaker was even too small to ride. So it was myself and David. It’s definitely on our list this year. It’s so cute the kids will love it. It’s in travel town and it’s a pretty long ride not scary at all. just fun. First weekend is Oct 13 from 7pm-10pm. They only ride on the weekends. And will be open 10/30-10/31. Tickets are sold at the door $20 each rider. Line does get long so arrive early.
Third is Descanso Gardens pumpkin festival, Rise of the Jack o’ lanterns. This starts Oct 1st- Nov 1st. I have not been to this one. I will try to make it out this year. I think it will be fun for the kids as well. Advanced ticket purchase is required, prices $22-$28 varies from dates.
fourth is Camp Spooky. Another I have not been to. But I’ve been to the evening one, SCARY! So this one is made for the little ones. I think it has the same idea like Mickey’s Halloween party. They have trick o treating for the kids and other fun stuff. I believe Knott’s Berry farm isn’t as expensive like Disneyland so worth the try. I noticed tickets are less if you purchase online.
Fifth is my favorite and the cheapest, LOL! One of our favorite things to do is take the boys to get a treat to eat in the car and drive around the areas we know decorate for Halloween every year. They love to see the houses and it just put us in the Halloween spirit. I know now a days everything is so expensive for a family of four so don’t ever feel spending more is more fun. I grew up not having much but my memories like these are with me forever.
Hope you all liked this Post. Let me know in comments if you’ve been to any. Side note these are all in the LA area or near. Till next post!
Hello Ladies!! I swear these weeks go so fast. So as promised I’m going to share our family day to Disneyland. We are big Disneyland people. I mean, we love it! We did have season passes last year but didn’t renew since I don’t like going during the really hot months. So it had been almost a year since our last visit. I was pretty excited since every year for Breaker, it’s a different experience. That’s what I enjoy the most , my boy’s excitement.
This was our first time attending Mickey’s Halloween party. For those of you that don’t know, this is an evening event during Halloween time. This is not included if you buy a day pass and not included if you have an annual pass. It’s a complete other ticket. I know this event sells out fast. Season pass holders do get first priority on buying these tickets. Another thing before I get into my personal experience, these tickets are not as much as a regular admission and the cool thing is the event starts at 6pm. You can actually go in 3 hours before event. So you get those extra 3 hours to park hop! And the park closes early to regular admission ticket holders so the park is not that crowded.
First the park is totally decorated for Halloween! It’s so cute and festive. It’s a Halloween party so you can dress up, of course Disney has rules on the website. But that was probably my favorite is just looking at everyone’s costumes and seeing how cute the families get into the spirit of it all. The crowd is a mixture. You see a lot of teenagers and young adults but you have your families with little ones as well. The cute thing is you see a lot of the characters around – more than a normal day at Disneyland. They have lines where you can take a picture with the Villains of Disneyland. I mean how cute is that! Some of the rides are Halloween themed. One of our favorites is the Haunted mansion. They turn that into ‘The nightmare before Christmas’ theme and it’s so cute! That one lasts through Christmas time at Disneyland so if you don’t get out there for Halloween you still have a chance to see it for Christmas. They have a few more that they change-up for halloween. But that one is my favorite. Another fun perk, is the Trick or Treating spots. They have them through out the park. They give you a map on where to find them. That was really cool. Breaker loved that! We literally just did 3 of the spots and we had 2 bags filled of good candy. Oh they do hand out mini bags when you enter the park! One of the best perks of this event was the short ride lines. It was amazing! We got to get on Peter pan in like 2 minutes, LOL! If you’re a regular at Disneyland you know what I’m talking about. That line is always so long! The parade is a Halloween theme with a spectacular fire work show at the end. Besides feeling like a went to a club all night the next day it was such a fun night for my family, LOL! No but seriously, if you haven’t experienced it, I really recommend you do one year to come. It’s very cute and the kids loved it! So did us big kids! I’m going to share a few personal photos below. Breaker wanted to be a donut Chef, his choice. So I made us a little something to go with his costume. Breaker’s donuts on his costume, my ears and daddy’s pin was all made by yours truly. Big brother was supposed to be bashful from snow-white. I even made a hat for him but he changed his mind, TEENAGERS! Hope you ladies liked this post, I hope it helps if you’re heading out to Disneyland for Halloween.
