Amazon what?! My random finds.

Amazon what?! My random finds.

Happy Wednesday and Inauguration Day! Hope you all are well! Hope you all are staying safe and I really hope your mind is staying positive! I can’t stress how important staying positive is. Too much negativity in the world.

Ok so today I thought it would be fun to share all my random Amazon finds! I mean some aren’t random but I’d say my Amazon favorites list is pretty random! I think everyone can agree they’ve been online ordering a lot more these last 10 months! I mean it makes me happy. And not to mention I really need this stuff, wink! I’ll be sharing my favorites list below so you can shop my list! Thought that would be easier then tagging everything. I only listed my absolute favorites. Because not all my Amazon purchases have been a hit!

On my list you will find some kids school stuff that have helped us with school at home so if you are a parent with kids home schooling you’ll find some fun stuff there. One of my favorites I posted are the sea grass baskets that come in a set of 3 different sizes. I use those to store my boys Xbox! It hold the counsel, done games and cords in all 3! Seriously my favorite purchase. Another one of my absolute favorites was my steamer purchase. I was skeptical but it works great! With covid I like to steam my floors once a week! It also has attachments that you can steam the grout on your floors(it works!) and I use it to steam my clothes. All in all great steamer. Another great find was my water kettle. I have tee every morning and night so this is so so convenient! Great purchase. Everything else I love as well! Check my list out random but a little bit of everything!

Well that’s the end of my random Amazon purchases! Till next post!

Let me reintroduce myself

Let me reintroduce myself

Hello friends! Happy new year! I really want to wish you all a beautiful healthy start to 2021. I’m sure this wasn’t an easy year to start, but nonetheless I think we all need to stay positive!

With that I wanted to start the year on a positive note over here on the Blog! And I’ve noticed I have a few more blog followers, so welcome and I hope you find my Blog a happy fun place to stop! So with that I wanted to reintroduce myself!

My name is Lisa, I am a fiancé to Carlos. I’m a mother of 2 boys David 16 almost 17 and Breaker 7. They are my heart and soul. I am a stay at home mom, but to be honest I hate that label. I’ve never liked it. I’m almost embarrassed to say it at times. I feel like a better name should be given to women who stay home with their children. Because we are definitely not just staying home. I know now that a “stay at home mom” is just as busy as someone who works but I’ll leave that for another Blog post. I was in healthcare for 16 years when I had my youngest, so I decided to stay home with him. My plan was to start part time once he was in school full time. Part time because I want to be the one to pick my kids up. Especially my highschool son! It’s important I’m there for him. Well my plan didn’t go that well. But before that I decided to start Blogging to keep my brain stimulated and to not lose who I am at home. I’ve been blogging for 3 1/2 years now, I wish I can put more effort into my blog. I really hope I can this year. This pandemic hit me where it left me really thinking about what I want to do. I still don’t know, lol! But what I do know is I want to continue blogging. I swear I feel something in the universe wants me to continue.

That’s pretty much about 1/4 of who I am. And all I’ll share right now. I plan to use my Blog as a positive fun space for anyone. I don’t want to be so serious. Life has been so crazy for all, we all need an outlet! In the beginning of the pandemic I felt insensitive to continue blogging about stuff I liked, fashion, beauty, mom hacks etc. but after almost a year of this, I need to keep on blogging. I like to escape to blogs, Pinterest, or a fun story everyday, just to remind myself that life will go on. I have some blog post planned and I really hope you come to visit! Till next post! Stay healthy.

Goodbye 2020

Goodbye 2020

Hello friends! I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. Over at the Stylesencillo headquarters AKA my house, lol! We are doing good. My kids are doing well and the hubby is staying safe, but back at work. I’m just trying to keep sane by the repetitive lifestyle we all live now. I’m trying to focus on the kids and add a little self care once a week for myself.

This year has been tough, I pray for the ones that have lost loved ones, lost jobs and having hardships. I pray next year will be brighter for all. Which is why I want to say goodbye to 2020!

I can honestly say this year has had ups and downs. I think we all can say we have grown. I know I have, I’ve come to appreciate everything I have. I learned to be happy with what I have and be thankful. No more wishing to have someone else’s life or wishing I did something different, or wishing to be somewhere else. I always say if you wish you did something different you might not have the loved ones you have now. Spending all this time at home reminded me that as long as I have my loved ones I’m happy. We made a lot of memories this year with us 4. We will always remember 2020.

It’s funny because I really thought 2020 was going to be my year for my blog. I wanted to grow and just step outside of my comfort zone. I think we all had high expectations for 2020. I’m really hoping 2021 will be brighter for everyone. It will take some time for some to get back to a place of comfort ,but I know it will happen.

As 2021 approaches I wish everyone nothing but the best. I hope for everyone to appreciate everything they have and to continue to slow down and appreciate family and the time with family. That one thing we all need to bring with us to 2021. Life is short and we need to make happy memories, we need to be present with our lives. No more wishing for what they should have done and wish for something you can do. Move forward not back.

Before I say goodbye to 2020 I want to say a goodbye to my beautiful friend Salena who we lost this year. Your bright smile and beautiful laugh will always be in my mind. I thank you for coming into my life and being such a great friend. I’m so happy to have had time with you. I will forever think of you as the clock strikes 11:11. Love you Sal.

Wishing you all a beautiful Holiday, stay safe and remember to be present. Till next post!

Hello 2020

Hello 2020

Like crazy! I can’t believe we are in 2020! This is where you start to see all the new year new me,blah blah blah. I’d like to see it as a fresh year to be a better you. A clean 365 days to live life like you ,but try to add some more positive to your life. Try to push yourself to step out of the box a little. But don’t beat yourself up if you’re not ready for certain changes right away. Like I said you have 365 days!

For me I plan to give myself a few goals. I’m so over the lose weight crap! I’ve learned to just be healthy ,stay healthy, but live life and don’t deprive! I’ve found a way to stay active and I do want to eat healthier. That’s a goal but not just for weight loss, more for health reasons. I plan on staying healthy inside and out! Enough of that!

My real goals are to be more in the moment, I started that last year and I plan on getting better. Make small changes around my house, I’ve really liked the minimalist life. I’m all about living with what I need, not just to have. I’m teaching the boys this too! I think starting these habits early is great! Trying to spend more quality time with family. Life is so short I don’t want to regret not spending the time when I have it! Of course continuing my blog is a must. But I don’t care about numbers anymore. That was killing me! Giving me anxiety. I choose to be me and create from my heart! I don’t care about my numbers. If I can influence one person in a positive way that’s my reward. So overall my 2020 is just being a better me! Taking time for myself and enjoying everyday! So to a new year! Cheers to you all!

A decade to remember

A decade to remember

Hello my friends! As you can see I’m writing my last post of 2019! I will be taking next week off to live in the moment with family. It’s actually something I will take with me in 2020. Which I’ll have a full post on my vision and what I want to accomplish in the year to come. Stay tuned!

As we start to close the chapter of yet another decade, I love to look back and see where and how the decade started! I remember being at a New Year’s Eve party getting ready to ring in 2010 , with my sister and friends. I didn’t have a date but who was right in front of me as the clock hit midnight, Carlos ( aka the hubby). That kiss was the start of us! This decade has had some ups and downs. I had to leave my job I’d love for 16 years due to relocation. I was so sad, but it couldn’t have happened at the most perfect time. I was about to have my baby Breaker. The world works in mysterious ways and I think it was in my favor. I became a stay at home mom and I still am. I love being there for my boys. Will it be my way in 2020, I don’t know. But I’ll keep you posted. My moms job got relocated in this decade, it was the saddest thing ever. I had just found out I was pregnant. I needed my mom and missed her so much. But  thankfully she came back to LA after 7 years. I never take for granted of her being so close, I try to make time for her always. My older son became a big brother in this decade after 10 years of being the only child, I thank god for his kind heart everyday. Ending this decade with my heart full because all my family members are home. I have my love and my two wonderful boys. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end a decade.

I also wanted to thank you all for supporting in reading my blog, your sweet messages I get and just following along. This blog has been so much more to me than I thought. It’s helped me grow as a person, it’s helped me appreciate myself more and opened my eyes to new things. I’ve always been so shy and that shyness has held me back from many things. My blog has brought me out of my shell a little more. I’ve met some beautiful people because of my blog and I can’t wait to meet more! And I hope you all follow along in 2020!

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas with family and friends! Can’t wait to see you all in 2020! Cheers to all of you!

Cookies and cocktails Halloween style

Cookies and cocktails Halloween style

Hello friends! Happy October! If you don’t know already, I absolutely love this month! I feel like it’s a fun month for creativity. Whether it’s making your costumes, making party treats or just good old home decorations. It’s just such a fun month! Not to mention my kids love Halloween! Yesterday morning when I turned on nick Jr for Breaker he was ecstatic that the logo was Halloween style, lol! Running around the house saying it’s October 1st I’m so excited for Halloween.

So with that said , I’m dedicating this month to Halloween on the blog! Each week I’ll have a new Halloween themed blog up! This week I’m starting with a simple table set up for a Halloween themed cookies and cocktails! I love a theme!

0B66ACE9-E781-495D-B051-B3CC390D5B373290D292-135C-43DD-8B3A-1C0563E786B5AFADB795-504D-461A-9855-E363846876B6EF6F78C9-5019-41C0-A4E7-3108C2B0FC8E

The table I kept simple! Fresh flowers are always a must. I kept it skeleton theme. And I liked the idea of cookies and cocktails. Of course you can have a food spread, a charcuterie board is always perfect! You can even ask each guest to bring cookies, to make it more fun. Halloween themed of course! And don’t forget the cocktails. I’d keep it simple maybe some champagne or a simple not so sweet cocktail. Sangria is always fun! I purchased the cool skeleton straws at party city, I thought they were a cool touch.

The cookies I mean are you dead from how cute they are! These are so cute and just add such a perfect touch for the theme! These are from , With a pinch of love! She makes the cutest cookies and treats. And can match any theme you’d like! I’d say the perfect part of a Halloween party! Even for classes or co-workers! I’ll leave her info below! Order early, and head over to my Instagram for her cute treat bags she makes!

Invite your favorite girl pals over and to set the mood of Halloween, set a theme to dress code. You can do pajama party, black and white! You can have each girl make a Halloween inspired headband and maybe have a contest on best headband! Or make it chic and have it cocktail dress attire!

Hope you liked this simple table set up! Till next spooky post!

Back to school checklist!

Back to school checklist!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all are having a great week so far. I know we still have another month of summer, But I always feel once the kids go back to school, Summer is over, LOL! I mean the heat lingers on until October but summer fades away. I’m looking forward to fall weather, Pumpkin spice and halloween, too soon?! But before Pumpkin spice we have to get these kiddos back to school.

So I’ve been doing this for a while, My David is entering sophomore year so I consider myself a Pro. No not really, but I’ve done first day of school enough times to know. And I’m being sarcastic, LOL! I forgot a lot of stuff when it’s the start of kindergarten. So I’m sharing a few things that might help you in the future or if you are going through this now. I found myself running around yesterday getting last minute things done because I wasn’t prepared for these very little but important steps.

Very important and also something we might not realize until we are told. I didn’t realize Breaker’s immunization card wasn’t updated, I know he was updated with all his vaccinations, but it was not recorded on his card. So the school said without that he can’t start. Thank goodness he starts next week. I called the Dr and had the card updated. So just remember and make sure the immunization cards are updated. It’s very important.

If you have a child in sports, make sure they have physicals done. Kids will not be able to practice until a complete physical is complete and if you wait till the last minute, You will be running around trying to get appointments in and proper paper work filled out. Believe me try to get the appointments done ahead of time.

Those are important because you know dealing with Dr’s offices aren’t always a fast turnaround. The rest is basically just making sure kids have proper attire for school, School supplies most schools and classes give list for what’s needed the first week of school. So I normally just buy the basics, and shop for the rest once I have the list from teachers. It saves time and money. Sometimes we buy things they don’t need.

And lastly just relax and try to breathe and enjoy the beginning of school. I’ve learned to just be understanding especially to my oldest. I know the first month of school for him is just trying to find a system that works for him. He’s pretty busy this school year. So I will just try to help when I can and make sure he’s not slacking off, But most important making sure he stays healthy physically and mentally. And for my Breaker, He’s already having a hard time understanding he will be there longer and M-F, LOL! But I know he will love it. How mom feels, TO BE Continued!

Happy first Day of school to everyone and Cheers Mamas, We made it through another summer!

Tie Dye DIY

Tie Dye DIY

Hello my friends! So I hope you all are doing great! I’m doing really good, Getting ready for our family vacay. We are headed to Vegas soon. We wanted to get in a family vacay before the kiddos start school. Looking forward to that! So today I wanted to share a quick DIY. So I’ve talked about it on another post and I’m sure you noticed or have already jumped on the trend, Tie Dye! It’s everywhere. I’m loving it! You can find it anywhere. But I thought it would be fun to do some of our own.

We got together Monday and had a fun afternoon of some good old tie dying. My mom used to teach an art class and I remember her doing a tie dye session. She hadn’t done it in a while but her knowledge just came flowing back. My son, my nephew and my niece had never done it so they even enjoyed it. They are teenagers and young adults so that shows you how fun it is. Breaker even jumped in on the fun. He helped me with mine and you’ll see in the photo above that a little heart appeared on it. I thought that was so cute, A heart is our thing.

fullsizeoutput_378bfullsizeoutput_378a

So first supplies you’ll need the actual dye, you can find these at Joanns fabrics or Michaels craft store. I say go with who ever has the best coupon. You’ll also need a pack of rubber bands they have these also, they have a bag with different sizes. Gloves because it will stain your hands, My mom went in all free and her hands were pretty stained. Bins big enough to put the dye and the hot water you will have to put in, I got mine at 99 cent store. Just follow the directions on the bottle, it’s pretty easy to follow. Pick as many colors as you’d like and if you don’t need a lot they had these small boxed ones that are one time use. I bought a few colors like that.

Pick out whatever you want to dye and set up your station, we did this outside because it will make a mess, if you choose to do this indoors make sure you cover the table you are using. And place your rubber bands on your tee however you like. My mom’s trick was don’t make the rubber bands so neat because you want that funky shape. My son did his by scrunching his shirt up and squirting the dye where he wanted it. We all kind of did different ways. They all came out different so that was cool and we just had fun with it. I think the more imperfect the better it looks. These were the finished products! My advice watch some youtube videos just to get an idea of what you do.

100th Blog post

100th Blog post

Hello Ladies! Today’s post is quite special. It’s my 100th post. And for that I am truly proud of myself. About 100 post ago, I was so nervous to press publish. I didn’t think anyone would care to read or even look at my Blog. But I published it anyway, and I’m so happy I did. I’ve had so much fun writing my Blog. I’m able to use my creative side and keep up with fashion like I love. I do run into some struggles, at times I feel like I’m not doing a good job, But I stop and tell myself that I am.

Putting yourself out there in this saturated world of blogging is scary. But I’m confident in myself enough to keep going.

I love sharing with you all and coming up with new things to write about. All my post really do come from my heart. I write like I’m talking to my friends, Which you are all my friends.

I plan on keeping this up until life doesn’t allow it. But until then I will continue to bring weekly blogs and fun photos.

I want to thank My photographer Wendy for supporting my vision from the beginning! Look girl 100 post later! And to the Hubby for being the best instagram husband ever, he gets low for those photos, LOL! And to all of you for taking the time to read and message me, It means the world to me. Cheers to 100 more!

Taking you down memory lane! Till next post.

Family traditions!

Family traditions!

Hello my favorite people! Hope you all are doing well! I’m really trying to get it together for Christmas. It’s going to be my first time hosting Christmas eve with my in-laws at our house. So today I thought it would be fun to talk family traditions.

I love to hear from others on what special traditions they have. Every family is so unique yet we are all the same just enjoying family and tradition.

Growing up it was pretty fun. I have a lot of cousins around my age. So we had tons of fun. We would all get together at my Aunts house and it was just a big fun gathering. Of course as we get older and we all have our kids and new families things change. But one thing we stay close and make time when we can for everyone.

One of the funnest traditions we still do and I try to attend. Is tamale night. With such a big family we’ve always made tamales a few days ahead of Christmas eve. So we get together, and get it done. I remember these nights and will always remember them. We are very lucky to have my Grandparents with us still to share these traditions with us.

Now that I’m a mom I try to make new traditions for my family. I want my boys to remember them and share them with their families one day. One thing we started was the elf on the shelf. Breaker loves it and hates it, LOL! But we enjoy leaving treats or not leaving treats if they are naughty. Another tradition we actually started this year was a Gingerbread house contest. That was fun with my sisters, my mom and the kids. I think we need to step it up for next year! So sister’s I’m ready and already making plans!

Christmas and traditions don’t have to be what we grew up on, I like to change it up a little bit. The one thing I’m hoping for next year is My mom being home. She’s been living up North for 6 years now and has missed Christmas a few times. This year being one. I hate knowing she won’t be here with us. So I will pray that next year she will be back living in LA with us!

What’s your favorite family tradition?! Hope you enjoyed this post! Till next post!
