Pre-school update

Pre-school update

Hi Hermosas! Happy Monday, I hope all you beauties are relaxing at home on this labor day! It’s been so hot, I’m really looking forward to some cooler weather. I wanted to give you all an update on Breaker’s pre-school and how mommy is doing, LOL!

So the first day was perfect he went in his classroom so good, no crying! I think mommy and daddy had a harder time dealing. We picked him up and he looked so happy. Breaker loves to learn and was really needing some social time with kids. Being around mommy, daddy and big brother he really needed to be around kids his age. The reason we loved this school, not only location it takes me 5 minutes from home. They focus on social skills. That’s what we wanted more for Breaker right now. Now 2 weeks in and he loves going to school, But were having an issue. It’s quite funny but not funny! Breaker hates to wear shoes and the second day I guess feeling more comfortable he took his shoes off at school. Yes, I get to school and he has them off. The teacher is trying to put them back on him. I talked to him about it and told him he can’t do that at school. Shoes only come off at home. So the following week I give him another talk about keeping his shoes on. I get to school and pick him up and I’m so happy he has his shoes on. I go in to class to get him and I tell the teacher “oh good he kept his shoes on” she says ” No we just put them back on him, we had to chase him around class to get them back on” Standing there like “Oh!” This mama was lost for words and I’m a little lost on what to do. I gave him another talk on how important it is to keep shoes on. So let’s hope this week he keeps his shoes on, LOL! Besides that he is enjoying school!

So for me I’m loving it. I get a whole 6 hours a week to myself. I’m getting errands done, house cleaning, exercise and some quite time to work on my blog. I love it! Any mommy’s out there feeling sad or scared for little ones starting school.  Just know your not alone and believe me it’s such a nice thing for mommy and child. Hope you all got a little laugh from this post. I mean just picture those poor teachers running after my kid to put his shoes on! Geez, embarrassed mommy over here! Have  great week!

Why I started my blog

Why I started my blog

Hello Hermosas! It’s Monday another week to get Motivated! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I had a nice chill weekend! I had a photo shoot with my favorite photographer. Can’t wait to share the looks we did! I wanted to talk a little about why I started my blog. It’s been 3 weeks since I went live! It’s been such a fun 3 weeks. I hope you all have enjoyed my post! More and more to come, and I can’t tell you how excited I am to learn more and make new friends.

I’ve always been a shy girl, like really shy. At times my shyness gets mistaken with maybe being a bit snobby, mean or just unapproachable. But I’m not at all. I love meeting new people, Once you get to know, me we will be besties. So going back to why I started my blog. 8 years ago I had an idea to start a blog. I was a single working mom that at times wanted an escape from my daily routine. Well it never happened because, I was scared to put myself out there like that. In between, I met my soul mate, we got pregnant and we had a son.  Before maternity leave, I got laid off. It wasn’t a surprise it was a scheduled lay off. Which at the time was pretty nice because I was able to stay home with my baby. I was sad though. I had been at my job 16 years, it was my second home. So new to being a stay at home mom, it took a long time to get used to. When Breaker was 6 months old I wanted to start the blog I had always dreamt of. Even bought my domain and everything but never had the courage to put it out and actually write something. As time passed I was feeling a little sad, lonely and un-accomplished. I know I needed to do something for myself. As a stay at home mom, it can get lonely at times. I mean I’m super busy with the kids and my big guy! But I wanted some kind of escape for myself. I love clothes like love. I love to keep up with fashion, makeup, cool things. I remember back in the day going out, I would go on pinterest for outfit inspos. I would get a lot of compliments on my outfit choices. Finally to think at 38 I finally gained the courage to start my blog. I’m so excited, I love sharing with you all. My goal is to grow my blog family and give some beautiful working moms, stay at home moms or just ladies who want some inspo! So thank you if you are reading this. It means so much! I hope this wasn’t too long or too boring, lol! Till next post my blog family!

More wears Less tears

More wears Less tears

Hello Hermosas! This post is for my Mamas out there! First let me formally introduce my sweet little Angel, Breaker. He’s my 3 year old, actually almost 4 “sad tears!”. He’s a Ham in front of the camera. He’s our crazy, energetic, loving, happy little guy! A little story on his name, Breaker! With my pregnancy being a little older it wasn’t the easiest. Soon I’ll write on both my pregnancies since there is a 10 year gap. Back to his name, Daddy wanted something cool. In my belly he was crazy like he is in real life, jumping all over! I knew he needed a name that would fit his personality. Daddy loves break dancing, and no joke, I felt like at times he was break dancing in my belly!! So one day Daddy said” how about Breaker?”. I loved it, honestly we never even had another name, It was his name from the start. Breaker is the perfect fit!

96E49123-88A5-4788-BE7F-C59BA79B65DA.jpgI wanted to share with you all a DIY, I do for a lot of Breakers clothes! Us mamas know how fast they grow and how pricy clothes can’t get. Especially when you have more than one kid. I have a teen so his clothes can get pretty pricy! This is nothing so amazing, it’s pretty simple because I can’t sew, lol!  The picture above, I wish I took a before picture, but I forgot! I basically turned a long sleeve button up into a sleeveless button up. I cut the sleeves off really carefully with good scissors. Normally I like to pass down Breakers clothes to relatives. If they are in good condition or we donate. But occasionally, I have a hard time parting with items I love. This is a way to get more wears. So any-kind of shirt or pants that you know come winter they will not fit, But you love the style. Just cut them! I managed to take a before of the pants I cut to make him some stylish shorts.

Hope you Mamas found this helpful! I’m sure it’s nothing new, But I wanted to give a few examples of how we can stretch out these kiddos clothes! Hope you all have a great weekend!
